Every morn, as I’d stood outside my school at seven, ushering in the students, I saw many parents who would drop off their young in person, those on motorcycles, those who drove, and many more with the parents and children, holding hands, walking in.
Today, I saw a moving scene at the intersection that just, circled around my mind for a long time. There was, a father in his forties, accompanying his first grade daughter to school, from crossing the road to entering the school, the father was very watchful of his daughter, and had, wanted to help her carry her backpack or lunch, but the child insisted on doing it herself. And so, the father, with one hand, took his daughter’s hand, with the other hand, he’d held up the handle of the backpack, so the heaviness go all onto his daughter’s shoulders. And, although they’d walked along in an odd manner, but the father was glad, that his daughter no longer objected, and so, they’d walked into class together, then, hugged each other goodbye.

There was a younger, tall father, who’d taken his daughter to school every single day. Once he was waiting to cross the streets, we got to talking, he said, he normally got off work later, couldn’t accompany his daughter at supper, or help her with her homework assignments, and so, he’d insisted on getting up early every morn, to take his daughter to school then head off to work, with this father leading his child, the little girl is, blessed with every thing she will ever need.
Working in school for many years now, I’d realized the importance of family to a child’s education, and the role of the father in the family very deeply impacted the growth processes of the child. The father is definitely NOT the cash machine, or played the role of the harsh disciplinarian at home; fathers can also, cook the meals for the kids, or tell them the bedtime stories too.
Becoming a father is one of the more blessed things in life, don’t forget, to enjoy that clinginess, that dependency that your children have toward you.

So, there are, those daddies who are willing, to go out of their ways, to spend as much time as they can with their young, and these are, the better daddies of the world.
