A bloodied finger print was what cracked a nineteen-year-old murder. The man from Hsinbei, Rao, when he was just fifteen, as he was trying to steal something, he was caught, by the female shop owner, he’d stabbed her over twenty times to death; the police started reviewing this cold case again, and, with a bloody finger print at the scene, they’d targeted Rou as a primary suspect, as the police came to his doors, the moment they entered into his place, they’d asked, “How had you slept these past nineteen years?”, Rao admitted to the murder.
Rao (age 34), who is now, working as a vendor at the marketplace claimed, that nineteen years ago, when he was only fifteen, he’d lived in Shengkeng, Hsinbei, on the evening of April 8th at around seven, because he’d needed money, he’d wandered to a computer repair shop on Jingmei Street, he’d found, that nobody was watching the storefront, he’d entered to commit burglary.
Rou said, after he took the $60,000N.T. cash out of the register, the female store owner, Su was just, walking out from her bedroom, she saw him, immediately, she’d picked up a fruit’s knife to defend herself, and told him to drop the money, in a moment, he’d reacted, took the knife from her, got to behind her, strangled her neck, then, stabbed the woman’s head, neck, over twenty times, in the process, he’d become wounded on his left hand, then, he made his escape, he’d tossed the knife into Jingmei Creek.
As the murder was happening, the female store owner, Su’s husband, Chang was out, as he’d returned back to the shop, found his wife murdered, he’d immediately called up the police, the police deducted that the suspect killed her in a panic, and Rou was still a minor, and didn’t have any priors, so, he wasn’t in the system.
In 2006, Rou was arrested by the police for using amphetamine, and, had his finger printed, but, because the murder happened too long ago, plus there are too much data in the system, they’d not cross checked his fingerprints.
The Detective Agency started looking into these cold cases again, and, traced the cases that are about to be overdue; after Rou had hid for nineteen years, the police got a match, and, they’d gone to Sinchuang, and found him, Rou admitted to what he had done back then, and the blood left at the scene was a positive match to the DNA, and the police declared the case cracked and solved.
The husband of the murdered woman, along with their four-year-old daughter suffered from long-term posttraumatic stress disorder, after they’d learned that the police had, solved the case, they were glad, that justice will finally, be served now; as for the suspect who’s under arrested, he had two young children with his cohabiting girlfriend, he’d begged on his own behalf that he was too young back then, didn’t know any better, hoped that the judge could give him a chance to start over again.
After the police interrogated him, they sent him to the D.A.’s office, where the D.A.s asked the courts for custody after they charged him with murder.
So, no matter what, something EVIL you’d done will come back to find you, that, is what this story tell us, plus, the man who’d committed the murder told, that he’d not slept well since the night he’d murdered the female shop owner, and that also just shows, that if you do something bad to someone else, you will be tortured by your own guilty conscience for the rest of your lives.
