The Preschools are Now, Opened to Bilingual Education

Debate on how early the “start” should be here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

Currently, the start of English education is the third grade, but, some of the cities had, reduced the ages to first and second grades.  The Department of Education recently conducted a survey to the English language specialists, as well as the forefront figures of early childhood education, asking if they’re in support of allowing children before school age (under age six) to learn English.  And, of the returned surveys, most of the experts are “in agreeance with rules” (like incorporating the language into games), and so, the Department of Education is now, considering opening up the English classes for children before school age.

Based off of the rules, the private kindergartens and preschools should NOT start teaching children who are preschool age any English, but, there are a lot of the privately owned facilities that stressed the dual-language environment, and even, teaching the language in secrecy to the children, causing anxieties in the parents of the children going to the public kindergartens, and they’d demanded that the rule of English education be open.

But, whether or not young children should learn English, there were, long-term debates from two sides.  On the side of the early childhood education experts, they’d believed, that the children had yet to master their own mother tongues, they shouldn’t start learning a second language, that it would, cause cognitive dissonance, plus, there is, an influx of English cram schools for younger children, it will, cause the younger children pressures in learning.

But, the other group of English experts believed, “you’re not learning, but all the other children are”, believed, that early exposures can help the children incorporate a second language, and that there wouldn’t be the situations of not knowing the twenty-six alphabets by the time the kids are out of elementary school.

A scholar who’d received a survey, who’d wanted to remain anonymous said, that the government enforced the rules of learning English starting in the third grade level, but, there are, many exceptions too.

And, you see these two “expert” opinions, at war about whether to start the kids at a younger age in exposing them to a foreign language, and, what they don’t realize, is that the kids need to KNOW one language, before they can take up another, otherwise, they would be at a loss for words.
