A fifty-four year old woman, Chen, was displeased at how her daughter ran from home, and moved in with her firefighter boyfriend, she’d become, depressed, two evenings ago, she walked to the embankment, took the leap, to drown herself. After the fire department and the police were notified, they rushed to the scene as Chen saw the firefighters, she’d become, even more worked up, started screaming at them, “It’s ALL your faults!”, it wasn’t until her son made it to her side, did she become calmer.
The fire department told, that two nights ago around nine, members of the community passed through the back embankment of the Ximei Pumping Station, saw Chen straddled on the rocks, and crying nonstop they’d feared that she was contemplating suicide, they’d immediately notified the authorities, as the police and fire department arrived, they’d worked hard, to console with her, as Chen saw the captain from the local squad, Lin in his firefighter uniform, she’d lost it, grilled him, “Are you a firefighter?”, “Are you single?”, later on, Chen cussed him out, “it’s all because of you, firefighters!”, then, she’d tried to jump into the river, as all who’d gathered around worked hard to stop her from it, and they’d managed to contact Chen’s son, and he rushed over, and, Chen became calmer, got into the ambulance, and rode to the subprecinct.
Chen told the firefighters, her twenty-year-old daughter moved out of the house two weeks ago, she’d moved in with her boyfriend who’s a firefighter, and, after several tries of talking some sense into her, she still refused to come home, she felt abandoned by her daughter, that, was why she felt upset. Chen’s daughter arrived with her boyfriend by her side, as Chen saw her, she’d started crying and screaming, “You don’t want me anymore, why the HELL did you come here!”, the daughter shed the tears in silence, and, they were both, very emotional, and refused to back down.
The assistant director of the Yongfu Subprecinct, Chang saw, and he’d led the daughter away first, then, worked hard to console with Chen, “Your child is grown, she will take responsibilities for herself now, the parents must be supportive of the choices the children make for themselves,” after Chen had calmed back down, her son accompanied her home. Then, Chang called the daughter, reminded her, to go home to visit with her mother often, to slowly, change her mother’s beliefs about her boyfriend, to NOT make her mother suicidal again.
Yeah, this, would be something that LOUSY parents do to their young, and it’s still to GET things their ways, and, the mother achieved what she’d set out to do, by attempting her suicide, she’d gotten the attention of her own daughter, the one who’d originally ignored her, after falling out with her on the issues of her boyfriend, and this, is just, another bad parent, using emotion as the control, to make her kids do what she wanted them to.
