An eighty-year-old couple in Changhwa got along very well by the day, five years ago, after the husband was diagnosed with dementia, he’d had difficulties, recognizing his own wife, causing the eighty-seven-year-old elderly woman to be depressed, two days ago, she was found by her family, foaming at the mouth, lying on the floor of her bedroom, the family rushed her to the hospital, but she’d died, the investigative officers reviewed over the autopsy report and noted, that she’d taken hydrochloric acid, causing the erosion in her stomach and esophagus, and she’d died from it.
The police investigated, that two mornings ago at around eleven, the family went to Yang, the elderly woman’s bedroom to call her lunch, they’d found her, foaming at the mouth, lying on the floor, she was trembling and sweating, and there were, traces of cleaning agents, the family thought that something was dead wrong, immediately took her to the hospital, but she’d still died.
The police said, that this elderly couple had helped each other for years on end, would head out to the fields to work together, got along very well, but, since her husband became demented, and couldn’t recognize her anymore, she’d felt bad about what was happening to him. And, normally, although the field was attended by their two sons, but, the elderly woman rarely interacted with the family, kept herself locked up, and, the cause of death was suspected to be how she’d now, lacked a center, a focus to her life.
And so, that, is why an elderly woman killed herself, because she felt, that she’d lost her husband, he was overcome by dementia, and, could no longer recognize her anymore, and, I imagine, that the elderly woman depended on her husband emotionally, and now, all of a sudden, he sees her as a stranger, she couldn’t take it, and, committed suicide.
