Get Out, You Unwelcomed Guests!

I felt, a STRONG connection, to the article of, “There’s a RAT in the house!”.

Early one morn, before I’d gotten downstairs, I’d heard my mother’s complaints, and I’d not known, how to respond, she’d told me, that a rat came last night, and took one of her socks that was left out by the washing basin, and that the other sock was found, right NEXT to the trash can.  She’d told me, that this particular rat knew HIS goods, that oftentimes, she’d left her old, already worn socks out all night, and, nothing happened, could it be, that the rat is on the lookout, for brand new items, to decorate its own burrow?

I’d felt odd too, what use, would the rats have, for our socks?  Could it be, that it’s, preparing, for Christmas, wanted to get a present from Santa?

This unwelcomed guest that’s invaded into my home had been here for a few weeks now, and, it’s truly, troublesome to us.  At first, it was, the banana peel left in the living room, showing teeth marks, and we’d suspected that, it was, a rat; later on, it was, my mother who lived on the first floor, hearing rustling noises, in the middle of the nights, as well as, those disappearing soaps she had.  After a few days, the family started witnessing, at different times and different places of the house, that little, gray, agile body, and, we’re now, perfectly certain, that things that were happening at our home, is caused by them.

Other than the fruits that were, left out on the tables, the rest of the foods are placed, neatly, and sealed up tight.  We’d not seen the rats for years on end, and, they’d become, picky eaters too!  They’d only had a few small bites of the banana, then, a few nibbles of the plums, didn’t even touch the oranges at all, they’d become the trick-or-treaters during Halloween, wreaking havoc in our kitchen.

The kitchen is located on the first floor, with the rain roof over the steel shack, the residences were, tightly built, and, the rain roofs, connected, and, it’d made it, easier, for these rats to get around.  My father had, blocked ALL the possible entryways, and, tried hard, in his attempts, to, evict these, unwelcomed guests, but, for a couple of weeks, the cage set up, didn’t seem to do its proper functions, we’d traded one kind of bait for another, camouflaged the cage, still, nothing, they just, won’t fall for it.

Don’t know how long this war between rat and men will last, every time, there were rustling, from the rooftop as we are all, in the kitchen, we’d had to wonder, what, is our “enemies” planning this time?  Just hope, that they can, get it, that they’re all, unwelcome here, and, leave on their own.

Sometimes, those GOD damn RATS and MICE just keep on coming back, and, NO matter what you used, to block them out, set up those traps, or, whatever, there’s just, NO sure way, to EVICT them out of your lives, that, is why, those mice and RATS are, VERMINS!
