These children with autism had found their own ways, to connect to the outside world, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The Beauty Yong-An Living Center in Hsinbei City had invited six artists diagnosed with autism to hold an exhibition; they were all able to, find themselves, through the creations of their artwork, and they’d used the simple drawing techniques, as well as the use of the bright colors, to show the outside world, what they’re thinking about.
a painting by an autistic student, not my photograph…
The Hsinbei City’s Cultural Department told, that the mentally handicapped artists weren’t trained as professional artists, they weren’t kept within the boundaries of the traditional values of artistry, they were able to create works that were unique, with a different way of perceiving the world.
The fifteen-year-old Lai was diagnosed as severely autistic, until three years ago, through typing, she’d started, communicating, with the outside world, he’d written down, “the mercy of everything, I’m very grateful. Opening up the doors to my talents, moving the public, educating them, on what autism is”, to show the way the children with a different mindset, how wise they can be.
Lai’s mother said, that her daughter is very observant, two years ago, her grandfather died, she’d disclosed her feelings, wrote, “Grandfather is the BEST special eds teacher” with her computer, is the one who knew what’s going on inside of her heart, and, although she was, deeply, impacted by his death, she’d still kept up with her art, using pastel, carbon, and used her hands as a paintbrush, managed to make abstract, and fluid lines, received an award from the Department of Culture. Her mother said, “it doesn’t matter if she’d won or not, I’d just hoped, that she can, find her self, find what makes her happy.”
here’s another painting!!!
Lee, who is fifteen, at the age of four, he was diagnosed with a multi-functional mental illness, plus he didn’t have the hand-eye coordination, was told, that “he couldn’t learn anything for the rest of his life”, but in the process of rehabilitation, he was inspired by the round label stickers, and started using dots, and color chunks to paint in watercolor, although he was without the delicate techniques, but with his bold use of the colors, and his methods of painting, his mom said, that he was able to, immense himself in the world of colors, with a colorful world, opening up for him.
The twenty-one year-old Yeh is very quiet, he’d used the passionate colors, and the more radiant colors, to sketch the people around him, four years ago, when her son started to draw, his work not only had gotten numerous awards, there were, also, collectors who wanted his work too, and, his achievements in the artistry, had helped, opened up his closed up heart as well.
And so, you SEE, how these people who couldn’t connect to the world the way you and I can found alternative methods, to express themselves well, to connect to the world, using their own ways here. And this still just shows, that there is NO right or wrong methods which you can, connect with the rest of the world, just find a way of self-expression, and start, expressing yourselves.
not my photograph still…
