Taking Things Slowly, Life without the Pressures as We Age

The advances in technology is just, moving way too fast, and the elderly populations, they’re, falling behind the times here, translated…

Every day around the rush hours, the busses would be, packed with people, some, with briefcases, in the working class, there were also, students who were, flipping through the pages of their textbooks, there were also, elderly who are on their way to shop around, or visit their friends, after people arrived at their separate destinations, they all, rushed off, in a hurry.  From examining a behavior we engage in every single day, we can find that, the elderly people always sat near the ticket scanners, or, before their stations, they’d gotten up, in a hurry, fearing, that they’d not gotten off in time.

not my photograph…

Actually, this, is a possibility for all of us, as we approached old age, our limited movements, our delayed responses, if we can slow the paces of all our lives down a little, then, the elderly population won’t feel so hurried.

There are, several other examples that remind us to slow our paces down, so the elderly can catch up to us.  I’d gone home, to accompany my maternal grandmother whenever I have my days off, my grandmother, who’s still, filled with a ton of curiosities became intrigued with smartphones, I’d taken my cell phone out, told my grandmother, “press here, then, slide it here, then, you can call me………, no, grandma, don’t press it down, just tap on it”.  In this process, the great thing is, my grandmother had that curiosity to pick up on news things as she’d gotten older; what worried me though was, the interface of the cell phones is just, way too fast, it’d caused the elderly population to feel a ton of pressure, I thought, that if the cell phones can slow down for JUST one second, then, everything will be better.

The advances in technologies allowed us to see a brand new, beautiful world, but, as we’d chased after the speeds, these developments in technologies would halt the elderly’s experiences in getting honed up on the skills in using these high-tech devices.  Getting older, is something that we can’t prevent at all, if everything can happen slower, then, maybe, the elderly generation can be more adapted, and more adjusted to the paces of the high-tech age.

still not my photo…

And so, although the elderly population may want to learn how to use the technologies, but, these modern day advances are just, changing WAY too quickly, so, after they’d finally mastered a skill in usage, something ELSE brand new develops, and, the elderly population just never manages to, catch up to the fast-pace of modern day life…
