A Divorced Man Got Drunk and Got in a Car Wreck, Diverted His Anger Toward His Young Daughter, Beaten Her, and Left Her by the Side of the Road

This is, WAY beyond BAD parenting here!!!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

A divorced man, Deng, was suspected of riding a motorcycle after being intoxicated, taking his own daughter home, he’d ran into something, and, he’d taken his anger out on his own daughter.  The young girl was left by the side of the road, crying, the officer tried to calm her down, then, sent her to her mother, and reported the incident to the Taichung Social Services Department.

The Domestic Violence and Rape Prevention Center in Taichung told, that other than the corner of the child’s eyes showing some redness, there were no other external injuries, and, everything was normal at school, it doesn’t seem like she’d been abused; the child was in the care of her mother, and, if the mother wanted sole custody, the Social Services Department will offer any assistance she may need to do so.

The officer said, that that fifty-three-year-old Deng and the young girl’s mother were a couple by second marriages, but, the second marriage still ended in divorce.  The custody of the young girl went to Deng, on the weekdays, the child lives with her father in Shalu, and on the weekends, she’d gone to stay with her mother.  Deng didn’t have a stable job, and would often, scold his daughter after he got drunk.

It was a holiday on the 22nd, the child was in some sort of activities, and didn’t go stay at her mother’s, on that very evening, Deng rode his motorcycle with his daughter, to Daya to find his drinking buddies, in the evenings, as he rode home drunk, he rammed into the protective fence of the sewer systems; the girl was off the motorcycle temporarily, and it was suspected, that Deng was in a foul mood, he’d smacked his own daughter upside the head, and the child was scared and ran off, about ten minutes, she’d returned to where her father had left her, but Deng was nowhere to be found.

The child then squatted down by the side of the road, crying, the female officer, He and the officer, Wu went to the scene because the residents called it in, they took the child into the station, and tried to soothe her, and managed to get Deng’s cell phone number.  The officers called him, asked if he knew where his daughter was?  Deng replied, “I don’t know, I got drunk, and I’m not coming in, to the subprecinct.”

The child told the officers, that she wanted to go find her mom, and knew how to get to her birthmother’s home from Deng’s place.  The officer then, drove her to Deng’s, then, they’d followed the child, as she’d led them to her mother.  After the officers handed the child over to her mother, they’d reported it to the local social services department, and listed her as a high-risk case, and she will be tracked by social workers regularly now.

Deng went to the local police station to understand what had happened, the officers couldn’t prove that Deng was riding his motorcycle while intoxicated, just warned him verbally, to be watchful of his own daughter’s safety, to NOT ride his motorcycle drunk again, after Deng was told, that his daughter was with her birthmother, he’d left the police station.

And so, this is still considered, a SLAP on the wrist for this DEADBEAT father!  And, chances of something like this happening again is still very big, after all, this man would NOT have learned HIS lessons, just because the cops gave HIM a VERBAL warning!!!
