Life, the Obstacle Course

The Lonely Elderly Population Set Forth a Push in the Virtual Grandkids Chatting Agencies

This, is what the elderly generations are resorting to right now, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

“What grandma wanted the most is to see you often.”, the twenty-nine-year-old CEO of Mabao Technologies, Ku recalled, back then, when he’d asked his grandmother what she’d wanted the most for her birthday, he’d gotten the replies.  He thought, that it shouldn’t be hard, to teach his grandmother to use webcam, but, before his grandmother mastered the skills, she’d already died, and this regret had been the primary drive for him to develop the “virtual grandchildren” programs.

not my photograph…

In the forum yesterday, Ku, Lin and Lee, from the various sectors all stated, that the development of the products of the elderly population should start from the needs of the people, to provide the fitting services, to the elderly population.

Ku had worked previously, in the nursing home retirement villages, the hospitals, as well as the foundations as a volunteer, he’d taught the elders how to use the high-tech products, but, he’d found that teaching them tap here, slide there, wasn’t at all, easy.  And so, being a product engineer, Ku designed the products to fit the usage needs of the elderly population, in not changing their original ways of life, help pulled the distance between the elders and their young closer, with the “remote control, the camera, the video box”, then, the grandmother gets to see her granddaughter who’s going to school in the U.S.

But, after the products hit the markets, the problems of “children not picking up on the calls” surfaced.  Because of the time difference, busy, or some other factors, they’re not there, to pick up the calls, and so, three weeks ago, the company put forth the “grandkids” conversations service, hired the trained volunteers, to answer the calls, to hold casual conversations with the elders, and checked the living conditions of the elders at the same time, and, he’d even made the process of developing the programs into a book, and greeting cards too.

not my picture still…

“Experiences is what makes your résumés shine!”, the CEO of Chibang Technologies, Lee used the main character of The Intern, and the elderly woman who’d picked up painting after her stroke, Grandma Moses, and Grandpa Ching-Hong He as examples, that the elderly is not limited by their age, as they’re able to pick up on the newest technological developments, they can live out the bottom halves of their lives in high-definition too.  He’d said, that he’d worked in the technology industry for so very long now, and even as he’s getting older, he does NOT fear the innovation in technologies, he’d used his own life, as an example, for the elderly population.

And so, because the elderly are all alone, that, is why the development of such a software is needed, and, this still just shows, how little the children are paying attention to the psychological needs of their aging parents in the world right now.
