How someone who was once, on the receiving end of assistance had, stood up on his own, and now, he’s, giving back to his community, without asking for anything in return, just like how he was once, shown the kindness, from the Newspapers, translated…

Tomorrow is World Children’s Rights Day, the World Vision Org in Taiwan invited Lin, who was raised in the tribal area of Wulai, who’d received assistance from kind stranger, to return home to share his journey of how he’d acquired an education with the kids in his local elementary school.  “Attitude, is the most important thing”, Lin told the students, that one needs a lot of persistence, in order to, complete one’s education, and, entering into the world, with that competitive edge, and to not “be defeated, by the outside world”.

At age twenty-four, Lin was born and raised in the Fushan Tribe, in a single-parent household, with his maternal grandmother as his sole caretaker, at age twenty-four, Lin told of how he was sponsored by WorldVision Org for sixteen years, that in high school, he’d originally decided to go to Jingshan High School, because the tuition isn’t at all that high, but, he’d needed to be boarding there, and his family couldn’t afford it, and so, he’d gone to a private technical high school instead, and gotten into the tourism department of Jingwen Technical Universitry, and after graduating this year, he’d successfully gotten work at the Business Hotel set up by China Trust located in Hsintien, worked as the manager of the customer affairs.

He said, that although his family had been pressed by the economic difficulties, but he was raised, under the protected wings of his loved ones, that it wasn’t until he’d gone to school away, did he realize, that he was, a stranger, to the world around, that he’d, paled by comparison, with the rest of his peers, and felt beaten, and realized, that if he didn’t study harder, then, he wouldn’t get the competitive edge.

He’d encouraged the younger schoolmates to have more courage, to not let any chances of furthering their education get by, and that the attitude they carry to learning is too important, that they should start working hard, from where they are right now, and, carry through in schooling, to not fear the trials that life may bring, to persist, so they can, make a better future for themselves.

And so, this young man shares his own experiences, of how he felt inferior, and was driven, to work even harder in school, to how he’d, gotten an education, and now, working as a manager of a hotel, and that, is the right kind of values to instill in the minds of the younger generations!
