nope, not my photograph here…
Two tragedies here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The male student, Tsai from Politics University yesterday around three in the afternoon, went up to the sixteenth floor of the south complex of the mixed courses building, opened the windows, and fell out, landed on the floral balcony of the seventh floor, both of his arms had been fractured, but he was still conscious, the police rushed him to the hospital, he is not in life-threatening danger now.
And, a sixteen-year-old high school student, Wei from Sinchuang High School, yesterday after his fourth period Chinese course, he’d climbed up from the second floor to the fifth floor roof, took the leap, and had died.
The police investigated, that Tsai (age 20), the college student had gone to the counselor’s office, was suspected of being troubled psychologically; yesterday afternoon, he’d gone up to the sixteenth floor of the building, was suspected of opening the window, took the leap, landed on the floral balcony of the seventh floor.
The police pointed out, that the seventeenth floor roof was usually very difficult for students to get to, Tsai is still being treated, and didn’t give a statement of how he’d gotten up there.
A professor found Tsai, back then, he was still conscious, and can blink; the school immediately rushed him to the hospital, the police rushed to the scene, there was no last note, nor was there signs of external forces.
This may, a doctoral student, Huang, from Political University, had climbed up to the sixteenth floor of the same building, took the leap, and killed himself; in just six months, at the same spot, another student took the leap, the words are traveling fast in the school now.
As for the accident in Sinchuang High School, it was because the students in physical education class had heard something heavy hit the ground next to the teaching building, two of the students went to check it out, and saw Wei lying there, told the instructor immediately.
Wei’s older sister told the police, that two nights ago, her brother told her, that the view from the roof of his school is very beautiful, but he’d never gone up there to see, didn’t know what he’d meant; and she’d mentioned how her younger brother has a type-A personality, that he would be very rash in doing things, easily gotten into conflict with others; and the parents, they’d not noticed anything weird about their son.
And so, these two, are suicide attempts, I’m thinking, but the reason for their suicide attempts, we may never know, and this still just shows, how these students’ psychological and emotional wellbeing are easily overlooked here.
