Life, the Obstacle Course

Listening Closely

I saw a newborn lamb today, with its eyes, still shut, lying on the pastures.  The mother was close by, with her head lowered to the grasses, grazing, as she ate, she’d, kept a close watch on me too (as if she was, on high alert), she looked very protective of her young.  About five minutes later, the lamb opened up its eyes, stood up, and, followed its mother around, and, as she got hungry, she’d had milk from her mom.  It was, such a heartwarming scene, made people smile.

Do you also have the questions of, how in the midst of the huge flock, how was the lamb able to find her mother?  They’re all, very similar.  I’d heard, that it was because the lambs recognized their mother’s calls, and, the mothers can hear their babies as well.  Listening is what is usually missing between people, and still, it’s this, silent wonder that’s constantly, going on, without them knowing in the flocks of sheep.

And so, we should, learn from the lower order of animals, they listened and heard each other’s calls, just like the mother sheep and her lamb, and, in the human world, we just, don’t listen to what each other is saying, I mean, yeah, we hear the words, but, what about, the depth of the meanings of the words we’re saying to each other???
