Says who hitting the books is the only way to become outstanding, there are, more than one way to success in life, from the Newspapers, translated…
The young adolescent male, Chen, who’d not at all, enjoyed studying, a young man who’d given his school instructors nothing BUT headaches, involved in temple gatherings, became the second place trophy winner for Takraw, he’d thanked his coach, his teacher, for helping him turn his life around. And now, he’s in the second year of Jia-Dong Agricultural High School, he enjoyed baking, dreamed of becoming the second Bao-Chun Wu.
The Department of Education invited the Jia-Dong Middle School to share its experiences in the result of appropriate intervention, the school used Chen as the lead in their filming of the micro movie. Chen’s father is a construction worker, Chen is the eldest son. Chen told, that since he was growing up, he’d disliked hitting the books, felt that he was nothing; he felt lost in life back in his middle school years, enjoyed heading to the temples, to beat the drums, to carry the statues.
When Chen was in the sixth grade, he’d gone to Jia-Dong Middle School’s field to kick the ball around, and the soccer coach, Cheng chose him, believed that he’s an athlete. After he entered into middle school, he was immediately recruited to the soccer team, and later on, the entire team changed to kicking around, a plastic weaving pattern ball, it’s a competitive sport that was from Malaysia that passed throughout the area, a competitive event in the Asian Olympics.
Cheng said, although Chen was a good sports player, but after he got into the second year of middle school, he became too intrigued with the activities at the temple, and would come late to the practices every single afternoon, broke the rules of the team, and, scolding him didn’t seem to work. “Seeing how he won’t cry until he sees his own end, I’d told him, to NOT come to the practices anymore one day”.
That, was when Chen buckled down, and begged his coach hard, to let him play for the team again. Ever since, he’d worked, extra hard, and he’d spent six months on his unique skills too. The school’s team, for two consecutive years, received the national competition’s gold medal, the team had also earned the second place trophies for the world’s Thai King Group Competition, and the three-men game too.
Chen’s second year middle school instructor, Wu recalled, that there were, a total of six kids who were acting out, she’d called them, “the six treasures”, the leader, “Cherished”, Chen, would fall asleep in class a lot, not use his assignment books, and had claimed, that his dog chewed up his assignment books, and turned it in to her, all torn up.
“There’s no other way to educate, only through love, and being a role model for the students”. Wu told, that in the enticement and encouragements of his homeroom instructor and his coach, Chen started performing better in class, and because of his outstanding performance in sports, he could originally get into Pingdong Technical High School, but, he’d thought about his areas of interests, and the strain on his family, he’d chosen to take up courses in the agricultural foods processing department of Jia-Dong Agricultural High School.
So this, is how one young man managed to turn his life around, he was originally involved in gang-related activities, but, after he was drawn in by the sport, with the encouragements from his coach, and teachers, he’d slowly, steered his own life, back onto the right tracks, and this shows how important the roles of the coaches and the teachers from school are.
