Life, the Obstacle Course

My Father Died at 103, and I Still Can’t Forget the Bedtime Stories He’d Told

Translated…

My father, at the age of one-hundred and three, finished the unwinding paths in his life.  Before his death, he’d weathered through wars, poverty, and escaping persecution from the wars, and, these hardships had, caused him to become tough.

My father is very service-oriented, even as he’s already over a hundred years old, he’d still worked as the man in charge of his neighborhood, helping everybody around his area, this, is also what made us so very proud of him.  Recalling the years I’d spent with my dad, there’s nothing but these heartwarming memories, he was very close to us, would often tell the six of us, kids bedtime stories, he’d even added the exaggerated facial expressions too, like he was performing on stage.  When it got to the scary parts of the tales, we’d all, shivered and quivered; when it was funny, we’d all, laughed out loud.  That, was the most unforgettable times of my life.

My dad really loved us very much, when we have our birthdays, he’d used the money for the groceries, to buy us cakes, and, everyone would sit around the cake, and sing happy birthday, and, thinking about those times we’d shared, my tears are, falling down now……

My father’s blessed longevity, I do believe, it was warranted.  He’d been extremely kind toward others, never carried a grudge, he’d eaten any and every thing, looked on the brighter side of things.  My father’s optimistic and studious nature, had made him into a faithful reader of the UDN papers, and, when he thumbed across my writings, he’d clipped it off, and kept, and now, this amazing dad had, left, who will, collect my printed articles for me then?

And, you CAN see, how much love is in the father’s reaction with his kids, can’t you?  And, this, is extremely rare too, because, the older generations had, weathered through the hard times, and, naturally, they’d become, hardened by life, but not this elderly person, he had been, extremely gentle toward his loved ones.

and no, still NOT my painting…
