How this elderly woman stays healthy AND active, just a T-I-P of what worked, for H-E-R, translated…
My mother-in-law was born in 1910, she’s turning 106 next year, since before two years of age, she was given away by her own blood, to another family, to become a child bride.
In the warring times that she was growing in, she’d had to take care of her in-laws, her brothers-in-law, and with seven young to care for, it was, very hard for her, in a family of twenty to thirty people, oftentimes, she’d had to wake up at two, three in the morn, and start a fire to cook, and she’d had to take turns, to cook the five meals for the workers on the family’s farm, delivered the drinking water, when she had some leisure time, she’d had to haul the vegetable out, walked from Bade, to Yingge, to sell.
In the earlier years, the life was hard, and, my mother-in-law wanted very little, but to go to bed on a full stomach, and although her life was very hard, she’d carried her kindness and mercy toward others, and she’s also very helpful toward the neighbors too, is a known do-gooder in her part of the countryside.
At the age of ninety-nine, my mother-in-law bravely went under the knife for her gall bladder stone surgery, and the doctors viewed the success of her operation as a miracle. Someone who nourished others will surely become nourished by the heavens, she’s still very healthy right now, and when she’d had minor ailments, and went to the doctors, everybody would be curious as to how she is alive for this long, and now, she can take care of herself, can walk and stand up, loved the softer varieties of meats, chewed down on the drumsticks, although she’d become hard of hearing and couldn’t read at all, but she’d loved watching Animal Planet, and would often ask questions because she saw something she was curious about.
In the holiday seasons, my mother-in-law and her four generations of offspring would gather, and we’d all gotten very well along together, the heavens had, given her a mild temperament, and she’d also carried the traditional good values of the Hakka women, stamina and endurance too, she’d looked on the bright side of things always, and lived in thanks. My dearly beloved mother-in-law, I hope you will always be happy, healthy, live long, and prosper.
And so, what contributed to this elderly woman’s long and well-live life is her attitude, mainly, and, because she’d stayed active, and is still curious at the world around her, and that, would be how someone can stay active in the elderly years, and, by keeping one’s mind sharp, that, is the way you will live long AND well!
