A Two-Year-Old Refused to Allow the Adults to Hold His Hands, Got Killed by Oncoming Traffic

This could’ve easily been prevented, had the parenting figure grabbed the child’s hands by force, but she didn’t!  From the Newspapers, translated…

A two-and-a-half year-old boy from Keelung was crossing the streets in Shen-Ow-Keng back in May, was accidentally ran over by oncoming traffic, his skull was crushed and he’d died.  The man, who was driving, Ke, and the woman, Huang, who was taking the child to cross the streets were both charged with negligence homicide.

Huang (age 27), in May started living in the Chang’s household, to help with the family’s three young children, on May 30th, in the nighttime, she’d carried the one-year-old in her arms, with the two-and-a-half year old toddler, Chang inside the stroller, and, allowed his older, eleven-year-old brother to push the stroller across the streets, to take the three children to a nearby super convenience store to shop.

As they’d gotten everything they’d needed, and was about to head home, Chang, the little boy didn’t want to sit inside his stroller anymore, wanted to walk with the group.  Huang originally was holding Chang’s hands, was about to cross the street, but, the little boy broke away from her the second time, walked to the middle of the streets, and, a car rammed into the child from the right side, dragged the child for a little over ten meters along, with NO signs of the driver, slamming down on his brakes, the child’s skull was crushed open, there were multiple contusions on his body, he’d died immediately on sight.

Chang’s father rushed to the scene, was heartbroken, the police reviewed the street surveillance camera footages, found that the yellow warning lights were flashing on the traffic signs, and that Huang had pulled the young boy who broke away from her again, but it still couldn’t prevent him from getting run over.

As Huang was called in, she’d told the police, that the little boy rammed outward, that he’d not liked having an adult to hold his hands, that, was why the accident happened.  The driver, Ke (age 30) showed NO signs of alcohol consumption, he’d claimed, that he was, driving his friend back to Ruifang, at the speed of 40 to 50 kilometers an hour, that he didn’t see anybody cross the streets, until he’d ran down the little boy, did he realized, that he’d killed someone.

After the preliminary questions, the police took Huang, and the driver, Ke, into the D.A.’s office, and, afterward, they were out on bail for $10,000N.T. and $100,000N.T. respectively; the D.A. finished up with the investigations yesterday, and charged both on involuntary manslaughter.

And, this could’ve well been prevented, had the woman FORCED the child to stay with her, but, she couldn’t, she was too sidetracked, and, the driver was speeding, because it was, an open freeway, and he’d not expected that little boy to come out into the middle of the streets, and, to think, that ALL of this could’ve been prevented, had the adults taken more care and concerns to handling the matter…but it still happened!
