A two-months old infant boy, awhile ago was dropped by his birth mother, Lai at the hospital in Chiayi, the child died after emergency resuscitations, and Lai vanished, without a trace. The infant boy’s maternal grandfather told the press, that his daughter was mentally retarded, and was enticed away by a man, Shen, left the house for a couple of months. Yesterday, the police and the district attorney were there, for the examinations of the infant’s corpse, they didn’t see signs of visible abuse, they will have an autopsy done, and they’re currently, chasing any leads on Lai and Shen.
The patrol officers received the call two nights ago from the hospital and took over the investigations, they’d reviewed the surveillance footage outside the hospital, found that on the evening of the fifteenth, Lai was accompanied by Shen in the evenings, took the infant boy to the emergency room of the Chiayi Christian Hospital, and dropped him off there, then, they got on the motorcycle and rode off together. The patrol officers couldn’t get into contact with Lai, yesterday, they’d gone to Shen’s residence, but the door was locked, and nobody was answering.
The police investigated, this January, Lai was married to the man, Chang, in her school from the same class, she’d left home back in March, and back then, she was already pregnant with child. Her husband reported to the local police subprecinct after she went missing, and sued Shen for enticing her away, the case is still currently, pending investigation; Lai’s own family too, had reported multiple times, that she was enticed by Shen, and, asked the police to help them find their daughter at least three times.
Lai’s father accused, that last September, his daughter met Shen through a friend, and Shen started pursuing her endlessly, this January, his daughter was married, and Shen still wouldn’t let go. In March, she was enticed away by him, the last time he’d seen his child, her weight had dropped from eighty-eight pounds to sixty-six pounds, she’d become skins and bones.
Lai’s father told, that after his daughter ran away, she’d cut off contact with him, the birth AND death of his own grandson, he was told, by the social worker that called the house. On August 18th of this year, when his grandson was born in the Chiayi Christian Hospital, the very next day he’d gotten to the hospital to visit them, and found that his daughter left with her son, with Shen, and, whether or not his grandson was his son-in-law’s child, there would be a DNA test that’s needed, to be certain.
The Chiayi Christian Hospital stated, that the weight of the newborn boy was way below the normal weight of newborn infants, only 2,100 grams, and when he was taken to the hospitals, he’d weighed only 1,700 grams; the police examined, that there were, no external injuries to the infant, that whether or not his death was caused by diseases, illnesses, accident, or starvation due to abandonment, they will need an autopsy to be certain.
And so, there goes, ANOTHER young life that’s lost, because the mother was irresponsible, and, the mother was mentally incapacitated to care for her young, and, this, is just, another life that could’ve been spared, but it still wasn’t!
