and no, not my photograph…
From the Newspapers, translated…
Kang, along with two other students from the same middle school were addicted to playing in the net cafés, they’d needed some extra cash to play the online games, and, they’d followed their 18-year-old older schoolmate who was already graduated, Fang, became drivers for a scam ring, and, used the tricks of “Guess who I am”, along with some other ways, to scam people on the phones, in just two months, they were able to get a little under two million dollars N.T., but, each of them only received about $10,000N.T. of the total amount, yesterday, the police arrested the group based off of fraud.
The police found that the 23-year-old Lo was the “Head Driver”, he’d absorbed the lower stream person, Fang who’d just turned eighteen, then, Fang found three more middle school students from the school that he went to, Kang, Lang, and Lin, to work as drivers. After each time they were able to go to the ATM inside the super convenience shops for a couple of thousand dollars to two hundred thousand dollars in amount, they’d received one to three percent of the total earned, and were able to receive a few thousand dollars each time, and they’d used that money, to buy the treasures or the coins in the online games.
After Lo and Fang were taken in, they’d told the police, that they were withdrawing the money on their friend’s behalf, and the three younger guys admitted that they were told, to make withdraws at the ATM in the super convenience shops, but stressed that they were only making some extra cash for the summer time. After the parents of the youth were notified, they were all, so very angry.
The Haishan Police Subprecinct had called on the District Attorney’s Office of Hsinbei City to work the case, they’d worked alongside the local subprecincts, the detective squads, a total of nine teams, and gone to Banciao and Tucheng, along with other places, arrested a total of FIVE drivers.
The police chased the origin of the scam artist ring to China, and, they’d used the tricks of “guess who I am”, bank accounts set up errors, etc., etc., etc., to make overseas calls from China, and selected the victims at random.
And, of the ways that the scam artist ring worked, “Guess who I am”, the caller would say to the person at the other end of the phone lines, “It’s been a long time, do you remember who I am?” then, used methods, to make the person who was called to believe, that the caller was someone that the victims had known from a long time ago. After they’d managed to get the victims’ trusts, they’d used reasons that they needed money for business, or that they got involved in some sort of accidents, and needed some quick cash to scam, and then, they’d had the drivers, picked up the amount using ATM withdraws.
And so, this, is how some KIDS believed that they CAN make some QUICK cash, by working with a SCAM ring, and, because these are teenagers, and, the teenage brain is still developing, so, these kids can’t foresee the consequences, that, is why they are way too STUPID, to become absorbed into these scam artist rings.
