Yesterday there was a report on the United Daily News about the reforming of the Rong Home. As the era of the aging community approaches, a lot of people wanted “a place to belong in” when they’re old, there are, various nursing homes all over Taiwan, but NOT all are up to quality, it is, really hard, to find a facility that tailored to the welfare of the elderly population. The former director of the Controls Department, Wang once wrote, that being able to find a perfect nursing home for oneself is equivalent as getting into heaven, the problem is, that there’s a thirty-year waiting list, for these high-quality nursing homes.
The population of the retired army men is an absolute FACT, and, the member of the single retired servicemen are declining by the numbers, the Rong Home became very unpopulated, and, if we don’t utilize the extra rooms in the homes, then, we’d be wasting the resources. The Rong Home should make use of everything, to set up the living quarters to fit the needs of the families or the individuals, and make sure all the appliances, the facilities are working fine.
Although the Rong Home takes in the veterans primarily, it’s also, opened to regular citizens, and can add to the incomes of the Rong Home at the same time, but, the process of reviewing the applicants must be really strict, to avoid the problems that may stem from opening the home to the general public.
It’s a very practical thing, that the Retired Veterans’ Homes changing into high-quality nursing homes, so long as the environment is elegant, the caretakers very attentive, the prices, within the reasonable ranges, the caretakers have empathy, maybe, one day, it’ll be, our turns, to check in!
And so, this home for the veterans, opening up to the general public just MIGHT resolve the issues of the population aging, because the home provides a place where the elderly can establish their routines, and they can also, socialize with people their age, making it easier for them, to age better.
