From the eyes of a grandchild, translated…
My grandmother is in her nineties currently, she’d been healthy, rarely fell ill, every time I saw her, as she was getting in, she was always, covered with sweat, what the Taiwanese called, “Sweating it all out!”
What’s the secret to her longevity? After my long-term observations, I’d found, that she’d sweated a lot, happy to help others out, and, she was, keen on sanitations, and all of these factors had, contributed to her long life.
Whether it be when she’d gone out shopping, or visiting with friends and relatives, she’d walked, during the weekend mornings, she’d taken her children and grandkids along, to the walk along the riverside, to take in the views of the river, watching the water flowing, she’d told her offspring, to work hard in their lives.
Because she’d gotten enough exercises, we’d all seen her sweat from her forehead, and medical research had shown, that sweating helps get rid of the toxins inside the body.
On top of that, because my grandma is very helpful and passionate, every time there’s a celebration in her town, she would be called upon, and that leaves her no time for worries. She has a ton of offspring, and, as the neighbor’s young get married, they’d all asked her, to lead the brides out, and the newborns were all, given to her to hold for a bit, to have some of her luck, rub off of them.
And, my grandma loved taking baths, that, is one way she uses, to de-stress. Every time she came home from outside, she’d washed her hands with soap, so the germs don’t stay on her hands, this, was a way she stayed sanitary, and, when she’d cooked the rice and the beans, she’d first, handpicked out the bad pieces, before she’d placed them all into the rice cooker.
I think, so long as I remember my grandma’s good habits and follow them, I too, will have everything I dream of, and live, to be a hundred and twenty.
So, this, is what the elderly woman does, to keep herself healthy AND active at old age, unlike how some of the members of the elderly population who just sit and stare at the television all day long, this elderly woman walked out of her house, interacted with everybody she knows, and, stayed active in the mind and the body, and, staying active IS the key, to living long AND healthy!
and no, NOT my photograph…
