Bumping into Ylang Ylang

not my photograph…

From the experiences of an ordinary day, translated…

On my way home one evening, I’d seen a girl, with smiles, selling the ylang ylang flowers between the buildings.

But, it seemed, that her business wasn’t going well at all, when most people see her, they’d usually wore that facial expression of fear, and walked away, quickly from her.  And, although she had that look of disappointment on her face, however, she was always able to quickly get over it, became energetic once more shortly, and continued, flashing her bright smiles to the passersby, selling the ylang ylang flowers.

I can understand why, those pedestrians were so eager to get away.  Mainly because she has scars from burns on her hands and face.  I’m really in awe of her, how she was willing, to overcome how the world perceives her, and bravely interacted with the world around her.

Every time I’d passed by that place, I’d always buy a few sets of the ylang ylang flowers from her, to help her out somehow.  To me, the ylang ylang can bring a calming scent to my house, at the same time, it’d also give that girl some support, so, why not?

Every time the girl said thank you to me, I’d always told her, that I’m the one who should say the words.  Every time I’d seen her, it’d reminded me of the countless handicapped people who are out and about, making their own hard livings, and, I must, cherish what I have now, and, continue, to live this life, with a positive attitude.

I’d even told her, that maybe, she could search online, to see if there are, occupational trainings provided for by the government available, that it would help her economics even more.  She’d gladly accepted my suggestions, said that she’d definitely think about it.

A little while later, as I’d, passed through the place where I’d first met her, I didn’t see her there anymore.  I guess, she may have taken my suggestions, started taking those classes.  I had, turned the very last set of ylang ylang she’d sold me into dried potpourri, to remind myself, that in the corners of the society, there are, a lot of inidviduals who needed us to show cares and concerns towards; I will NEVER be stingy in offering aid, even IF it was only a kind word to ask someone how her/his day was going, it can change someone’s life.

So, because you saw how hard working this woman with a burn is that, was what drove you, to help her out, and, you’d done more than helping her, by giving her the resources, told her that there are job trainings courses available, so she could live a better life, and that, is what she went for, thanks to you, for providing her with the resources!
