The police found, that Fang the woman, and her ninety-year-old husband, Liu had two sons and three daughters, they’d separated for a very long time, Fang lived alone in Kaohsiung.
At the start of the year, Fang’s younger son died in a work-related accident, received over $420 million N.T.s in insurance payoff. Fang had priors in theft, drug possessions, and medical records of having bipolar disorder, and she’d owed some debts because of her gambling habits too, after the family discussed the matter, they’d decided for the eldest son who lived with the father, to take care of the insurance payoff; because Fang couldn’t get the money, she’d sued her husband for possession, the case is still pending trial.
Early yesterday morning, Fang took about ten kiloliters of gasoline to Liu’s house, called her husband up, wanted to see him at the entrance of the alleyways, she’d waited until Liu came outside, went to his place, found the front door locked, she’d poured the gasoline into the yard from outside, then, lit up the fire.
As the fire started, Fang caught fire too, the officers suspected that she’d originally wanted to murder her own son and daughter-in-law, but, as she’d poured the gas, the gas flowed backward to her feet, and got on her pants, that, was why she’d burned herself as well; but, they’d not ruled out that she’d poured gas on herself intentionally, and wanted to commit suicide with them too.
The eldest son and his wife, in their sleep, heard a loud bang from outside, found that smoke was coming from outside the house, Liu got out from the backdoor of the first floor, his wife ran up to the third floor and waited for rescue, wasn’t hurt.
The firefighters put on the flames in thirty minutes, and, as Fang was resuscitated, she was still conscious, told the firefighters, “I set the fire.”
And so, this, is how rash someone can get, because this woman felt that it was unfair, that she’d not received ALL the amount from her son’s insurance, but, she had a gambling habit, and, her other son was merely trying to make sure, that she doesn’t gamble ALL the money received for his younger brother’s death all away, and this woman took revenge.
