This should be, the PRIMARY goal of being a school teacher, no???
Light up that desire to learn in the students, it wouldn’t be that hard, if you truly show your students, that you really DO care about their wellbeing, and no, I’m still NOT saying, that you should try to go to those rock concerts (unless you want to turn DEAF), to understand why your students like rock n’ roll, it’s more than that.
It’s about connecting to them on their level, it’s about making them feel safe with you, like you’re their friend (but, you still can’t get rid of the “rod” when they act up either!), who’ll be there, to listen to their troubles, without ANY judgments, a place where they can DUMP their trash (emotions, experiences, etc., etc., etc.). Then, after you, the teacher, had establish that close and personal connection with your students, teaching should come easily, because they would know, that you’re someone they can trust, but still someone who’s like an authority figure, like their parents, but, friendlier.
Light up that desire to learn in students, that, is the KEY, to teaching a class well, and, if all the instructors in the world keep this belief in their minds, when they stand UP on that podium, with a piece of chalk in hand, writing whatever on that blackboard, then, I’m sure, that the students would be more open, to the way you teach them…
and no, still NOT my photograph…
