Because when the murder occurred, he was way too young, let his emotions get to his head, and, while on the run, he’d worked hard, to earn his degree, that was why the judge was lenient, from the Newspapers, translated…

A man, Lee, fifteen years ago, hurt his girlfriend badly, after the judge from his first trial gave him eight years, Lee was on the run, and had an active arrest warrant out on him, he’d managed to dodge arrest for a decade’s time; on the second appeal, the courts investigated, that while Lee was evading arrest, he’d become studious, managed to get into the psychology graduate program for doctorates, and his professors vouched for him, on his second trial, he was given a seven year sentence, the case was stopped yesterday, in the highest courts of appeals.

Lee (age 34), originally attended a university in the norther regions, sixteen years ago, he went to a cram school in Roosevelt Road to prepare for retest, he’d met a female classmate, Chang, started dating; Chang’s parents were against their relationship, hoped that their daughter could focus solely on her studies, Chang told Lee that she wanted to break up.

“If I break up with you, I will kill you,” on March 20th, 2000, when Lee asked Chang to his place for a confrontation, he’d gotten angry, and forced Chang to stay by holding a fruit knife on her; Chang became fatigued, and fell asleep for a couple of hours, and as she woke, she’d begged Lee to let her call a friend so the friend can tell her professor that she won’t be in class, Lee said, “You had better listen to me, or I’ll chop you to pieces.”

As Chang’s friend heard her crying, the friend realized that something wasn’t quite right, called out to five of their friends, to head to Lee’s resident; Lee feared, that he might get found, threatened his girlfriend with a fruit knife to have her be quiet, but he saw that she was persistent on leaving, he got angry, and stabbed his girlfriend in the abdomen several times.  The friend who’d waited outside for her heard Chang crying, rushed into the place to try to save her, Lee started stabbing at Chang’s chest like crazy; Chang was rushed to the hospital, and her life was spared.

On the first trial, the judge believed, that Lee had drugged the victim’s breakfast, sentenced him to eight years, after Lee filed for an appeal, he’d not shown up in court, and had an active arrest warrant out on him, he was caught and taken in this April.

On the second appeal, the judge found, that Lee never drugged the woman, that the victim had pulled an all-nighter, got too fatigued, that, was why she’d fallen asleep in Lee’s place, and the judge took into considerations, that when Lee murdered the woman, he was only nineteen, was impulsive in handling matters of emotions, gave him a seven year sentence instead; the highest courts maintained the rulings of the second trial, and, the case is closed.

So, this is still a crime of passion, in the heat of the moment, because his girlfriend wanted to break up, and this man was still very young, and he couldn’t handle these matters well enough, and that, was why he’d acted so rashly, and the judge now took that into considerations, seeing how studious worked, that he didn’t plan the murder, that it was in the heat of the moment that it had happened.
