Blamed His Friend for Causing Him to Owe Gambling Debts, He’d Gotten Angered for Him for the Wrong Reasons…Killed an Unrelated Man

A man owed three million dollars of accumulated gambling debts at a gambling ring, he was suspected of getting angry at the man, Lu, who’d introduced him to the tables, set up a murder of the man.  Early yesterday morning, Hsu asked Lu to meet up, told him that he was paying him back, was suspected of killing the man, Huang who went with Lu, to the meeting, after Hsu realized that he’d shot the wrong person, he’d fired off six more shots as Lu who was making his escape, but, didn’t get him.  Afterwards, Lu went to the police station to make a statement, the police put out an arrest warrant for Hsu.

The police investigated, Hsu (age 54, with priors in gambling, obstruction of freedom), about three months ago, was introduced to a gambling ring by Lu, he’d accumulated over four million dollars’ worth of gambling debts, after multiple negotiations, the debt collectors agreed, to lower the amount to three million, and that Lu should take care of the amount for his friend.

Because of this gambling debt, Hsu got angered at Lu, yesterday, he’d asked Lu to meet him at Sinchuang, Hsinbei City, pretended that he’d wanted to pay $300,000N.T. back to him first, then $100,000N.T. every month continuously, until the debts completely cleared, and he’d gone there with a gun, to attempt to murder Lu; Lu didn’t know it was a setup, agreed to meet him there.

Because Lu didn’t know the roads in Sinchuang, he had a member of a gang, Huang (age 35, with priors in drug possessions) to go with him, Huang was the driver, to take Lu to the meeting place.

Hsu ambushed by the side of the road, Lu told him, “I’m here.”  Hsu saw Huang get out of the car, thought it was Lu, rushed up to him, shot him, at gunpoint, in the left chest, Huang fell to the ground.  Lu started running away fast after Huang fell down, Hsu realized that he’d killed the wrong man, immediately, he went after Lu, fired six shots, but, all six shots had missed Lu.

The nearby residents were awakened by the gunshots, waited until it was quiet again, they’d come out to see what happened, they’d found Huang lying on the ground, they’d immediately notified the police.  The police closed up the scene, found seven shell casings, and two bullets, and, the locals’ doors were hit by the ricocheting bullets.

And so, this murder occurred, because of a debt, and, the deceased was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, I mean, it didn’t even involve him, but because his friend asked him to go along, that, was why he got shot!
