Being singled out can cause depression, the more it happens, the worse the depression gets
Yesterday was the first day of school, some of the kids showed “first-day-of-school syndrome”, and need about two weeks’ time to adjust. The doctors reminded the parents, after a month, if the child still shows signs of not wanting to go to school, there may be something deeper, including bullying on campus, sexual harassment, or just a lack of self-confidence, the counseling department of the school needs to intervene at the right time, or seek out professional help, so the child won’t get trapped by depression.
A high school age girl after the schools started, she’d refused to go to class, she’s troubled by insomnia every single night, and gotten angered at her parents a lot. The parents, no matter what methods they’d used, persuasion, forcing her to, she just, won’t go to school, and, the parents could only take her to the doctors, and, through the doctor’s guiding her, the female student finally told, of how she was picked on by a classmate, and the whole class would gang up on her by the order of that particular classmate, made fun of her, causing her to lose face in school, that, was why she’d tried to avoid school at all cost.
The psychiatrist from Zheng-Xing Hospital, Dr. Yen who’d treated this particular young woman said, that the female student, because she was singled out, that, was why she’d shown signs of depression, and when her parents forced her to go to school, that, was when the symptoms became more overt, she’d needed an anti-depressant to help her feel better. But, the female student clearly refused to head back into school, and it’s been a year since, and she still hadn’t returned back to her school.
Here are the signs of the child being bullied:
- Fearing Going to School or Refusal to Go to School for NO Apparent Reasons
- Avoiding Talking about Anything School Related
- The Grades Dropped Sharply All of a Sudden
- Showed the Emotions of Unsettling, Sadness, and Agitation Often
- Insomnia, Loss of Appetite
- Bodily Aches and Pains, Discomforts, and Wounds that Weren’t There from Before
- Behaving Differently Compare to How One Normally Would, for Instance, Spending All of One’s Allowances, Things Gone Missing
And yet, all of these, are still WAY too easily overlooked by the parents and other adults, because parents had to work, and, they’re already, too busy, trying to make ends meet, they have ZERO time to pay attention to what’s going on in the child’s life, that, is how the child suffers for so long, and, when the signs do finally show, it’s usually, progressed to too far already, so, start taking notice, in changes in behaviors, even if you THINK it’s nothing, don’t assume that!
