Accidents DO happen here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

A girl, Chang, with multiple disabilities, two days ago, while napping on the specialized chair in her early intervention class, because she only had two of the straps buckled in, her body slid off the chair, her neck was choked, by the belt that was supposed to steady her hips, she’d died, of strangulation.  The Hua-Guan Development Center’s CEO, Fu-Mei Wu admitted, that the two teachers was negligent, and that she will be shouldering all related responsibilities.

The police investigated, that the Hua-Guan Development Center was located in Guanxi, it’s a part of the early intervention program for a local school, specialized in placing children under age six who are severely handicapped, the five year old girl, Chang, started last October there.  The child had a case of encephalitis, was blind, and deaf, couldn’t talk either, feared the dark, easily agitated, the organization had normally, stabled her in the chairs, with the safety harness to secure her from falling off the chair.

The teachers, Li and Wu took care of the class of six-year-olds, three days ago, three kids were absent, there was only Chang, and three other kids in class.  At around one to two in the afternoon, nap time, Li, the instructor, in order to turn off the lights in other areas of the class, she’d allowed Chang to sit alone, facing the windows.

At 2:25, when naptime was over, Li, the teacher, gazed over, and didn’t see the little girl, and, as she’d gotten closer, she’d found, that the child had slid off of her safety chair, that her neck was strangled by the belt that was used to secure her pelvis, she’s already dead.  Li, and another teacher, Wu, they immediately performed CPR on the child, and called the ambulance, but, the doctors couldn’t resuscitate her.

The police investigated, that there should’ve been belts tied around the child’s chest, upper abdomen, pelvis, as well as the legs, but that afternoon, there was only belt on her upper abdomen, and legs; the child may have moved around while she’s asleep, and, the Velcro safety belt fell off, and she’d slid downward, and, her neck was tied up.

The coroners found, that it may have been the belt not tied up properly, causing the accident, and that the bruises on the child may have been caused by when the child slid from the chair, and rubbed against the wooden chair.

And so, this, is one accident that could’ve been prevented, but it wasn’t, because these adults are WAY too careless, and, especially with these developmentally delayed children, you MUST watch them, even MORE carefully.
