This is PRESCISELY W-H-Y, you should NOT meet anybody online!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

A man, Huang, three months ago, met a woman on the “Love Apartments”, thought he’d found true love, but the woman works for a scam ring, on the Day of Lovers here, the female driver, Lin showed up to “borrow some money”, was caught, and admitted that it was all a scam, Huang said, “Can’t believe, I got my heart shattered on Valentine’s Day!”

The police investigated that Huang (age 38), who works in the electronics industry had never been in love, signed up for the Love Apartments this May to socialize, and met “Good girl”, who is actually a scam ring, they’d added each other as friends via a communication software on the cell phones, and because the woman would show so much care and concerns toward Huang each and every day, he thought that it was, true love, and they’d started referring to one another as “honey” too.

A month later, “Good girl” told him, that she’d wanted to go for a hairstylist certification, but couldn’t get the registration fee, that she’s in a bad mood, and, in order to help his “honey” live her dreams, he’d agreed to loan her $16,000N.T.  The scam artist ring sent out a good looking woman, Lin (age 31), to retrieve the cash, even though she barely said a “hello” to him, it’d allowed Huang to have a good impression of her.

And, the scam artist ring immediately texted Huang, “Honey, did you get disappointed seeing me today?  Actually, you are younger than I imagined.”, it’d made Huang who was already slowly falling in love, fall even harder.  Didn’t doubt, at all, that the woman may be a scam artist.  Later on, the woman told him she wanted to marry him, and got him to pay her $40,000N.T. without fail.

But because Huang had wanted to meet with the woman, and couldn’t get to her by phone, he feared that something may have happened to her, he’d reported to the police, after the officers learned about the case, they thought it could be a scam ring, and asked Huang to play along, and, the woman texted that she wanted to meet him on Chinese Lover’s Day, but wanted to borrow $40,000N.T. from him, to pay for the spilled essence oil, and hinted that after they meet, she’d give him a “day he will NEVER forget”.

As Lin showed up to pick up the money that day, she was arrested by the police who was ambushing there, Lin said, she was only a driver, and could get forty percent commission for doing what she was doing, that she’d given the remaining amount to a woman nicknamed, “Chu-Chu”, this love affair that Huang found online, is a total scam.

After the police interrogated her, they’d booked Lin based off of fraud charges.

And so, this, is a story of a COMPUTER geek who’s too desperate for love got scammed, and, because he had NO experiences in the real world, that, was how he’d become an EASY target.
