Twenty-Five Percent of Students Used Facebook and LINE to Disclose Their Troubles

Pouring your hearts out online, and, hoping that the world would be paying attention, feeding to man’s SELF-CENTEREDNESS here, from the Newspapers, translated…

The Teacher Chang Foundation surveyed teens, and found that ninety-five percent of those who’d returned a valid survey felt that they’re overwhelmed by academic pressures, and of these, fourteen percent couldn’t find anybody to talk to about their troubles.  The Teacher Chang Foundation yesterday posted its 2015 Students’ Troubles and Outlet Survey Results, and found that over eighty percent of the students felt stresses in the areas of their academics, where they are going in life, their own emotions, and the pressures from their parents.  And, when they have troubles, twenty-five percent of the children pour their hearts out on Facebook or LINE.

The survey was conducted between July 22nd and August 3rd via online, and received 1045 valid responses.  More than half of the surveyed students showed that they have worries over their school performances, their lives, their emotions, parents’ expectations, interpersonal relationships, families, as well as their moods, and their appearances.  And, the academic performances is the top of their worries, and, twelve percent of the students stated that they feel enormous amount of pressures in this area, and, only five percent said that they don’t feel the pressures from the academics at all.

There were ninety-two percent of students who felt pressured about life in general, eighty-five percent felt stresses over their own emotions, there were, eighty-three percent who said, that they felt the pressures from their parents too.  When they have troubles, thirty-eight percent would pour their hearts out to their families or friends, thirty percent sought counsel from friends, and only seven percent would seek help from parents, friends, AND the school counselors, but, there were fourteen percent of the students who couldn’t find anybody to tell their troubles to at all.

The most widely used medium for their troubles include Facebook, LINE, Instagram.  And, twenty-five percent used Facebook AND LINE at the same time, and only eighteen percent used just LINE.

The counselor from Teacher Chang Foundation, Huang pointed out, that students would use the internet to complain about how they’d had a disagreement with their friends, and even disclose that they want to commit suicide, like asking a friend to take care of a pet, or that they’re going to do something rash on their birthday, etc., etc., etc., it’s suggested that the friends can ask the person to disclose more, and, when needed, notify the individual’s families or friends, or even, call for help from the police too.

The manager of student affairs from the Department of Education pointed out, that the most thing adults need to worry about are the students who don’t tell anybody when they are troubled, and, those students who don’t say anything online should be paid close attention to, that the schools should tune in to the student’s moods.

A lot of universities are now, are asking the professors to interact with the students using LINE and Facebook, but, the college students, when they’re troubled, they turn to their classmates or friends the most often, and so, at the freshmen orientations, the school assigns the older students leading the younger students, to set up a support network system.

Because kids are growing up under a WHOLE lot MORE pressure than you, the older generations, that, is why this system of support is absolutely necessary, and, because this IS the high-tech age, a lot of things are disclosed online.
