Love is used as an excuse for committing the crimes here, from the Newspapers, translated…

A woman, Rong, who was originally from China fell in love with a Taiwanese man, Lin, last year in February, she’d used false documents, and applied for a visa to come here, to be with him, and the Department of Economics caught that the company was bogus, and, she was found out, the judge considered how Rong was just thinking about the love for this man, and she’s on the verge of having her baby, he’d found her guilty for forging the documents, and she is to spend fifty days in jail, and she is allowed to delay her serving time for two years, but she must pay $50,000N.T into the treasury.

The verdict pointed out, that Rong came to Taiwan for the first time this July, through the introductions of a friend, she’d met Lin, and they fell in love, after she’d left Taiwan, she’d hoped to spend more time with Lin, and, in China, she’d spent 38,000RMB, to forge the documentations of she being the CEO of a daily needs company, along with her college degree, and some other formal documentations, she’d first sent in the application to the Department of Economics that she wanted to set up a subsidiary company in Taiwan, then, went through immigrations to enter into Taiwan, shortly after Valentine’s Day last year, she successfully got her, to meet the man she loved.

But, as the Department of Economics looked into Rong’s company documents, they’d found, that the company was nothing BUT a shell, that it didn’t even operate, and so, they’d taken back the approval of her, setting up the subsidiary here, and notified the Immigrations Offices at the same time, and, Rong didn’t know that her scheme had been discovered, as she was about to leave Taiwan last October, she was stopped by the Immigrations Department.

And because Rong had confessed to what she’d done, on the first trial, the judge gave her fifty days in prison for falsifying documentations, but she felt that the sentence was too heavy, so she’d gone for an appeal.

She said, that in the process of the investigation, she did confess to wrongdoing, that it was the operators from her country who’d told her, that it wasn’t illegal, to buy the falsifying documentations, that, was why she got the false documents.

The judge believed, that because Rong wanted to be with her boyfriend that was why she was here, on a false record, and because she didn’t have any priors, and considering how she’s about to have her child, and so, the judge gave her a delayed sentence, but the prerequisite was for her to pay the Treasury Department a $50,000N.T. fine, and the case can’t be appealed.

So, this, is all for love, or, is it?  Based off of what was stated here, I believe that the woman knowingly BROKE the law, she knew that it would be illegal for her to be here, using a false front, setting up a shell company, and, she still did it, and love WAS her excuse, because she wanted to be with the man she’s carrying her child for, and that’s just plain STUPID, in my opinion, that is…
