The Department of Education in order to redirect the process of learning from examination-centered methods of instruction they’d set forth the Light Up Plans, provided funding for schools to help the students get away from the mindsets of “studying for the sake of passing the exams”, seven of the schools were chosen to participate in this newly experimental teaching method program.
The woman in charge of the middle school level education programs in the Department of Education, Liao said, that in the elementary years, the classes are very lively and kids would be engaged, but, as the students head on up to the middle school years, they’re often bogged down by the examinations, and the classrooms became less active, and so, the Department of Education decided to give the ten thousand dollars N.T. in funding to seven separate schools, to encourage the schools to use a more interactive approach to teaching the students, and the chose schools would need to show the results of the new methods for the other schools as an example.
And, the program had made a difference, as the various newly implemented program helped the students to become caring toward the society, instead of just, focusing on the materials in the books, the test materials, and, this group of students would be better prepared for life as they age, because they had this firsthand experience to be a part of this brand new program, and hopefully, this program would have the results that the policy makers wanted to see, so, more schools can follow the precedence.
