From the papers, translated…
That day, I’d gone to the super convenience shops, a developmentally delayed worker was there too, buying a cup of coffee. And, the store clerk who knew him joked with him, “I’ll take $20N.T. from you for it!”, he’d laughed and told the clerk, “You can’t do that!”, after he’d bought his coffee, he’d placed the coins he’d received as change into the donation box by the side for the funds for children who are starving, as he’d walked out of the super convenience shop, he saw someone had thrown a plastic bottle on the ground, he’d bent down, and picked it up and went back into the super convenience shop and placed it inside the recycle bins. Seeing how he was so full of compassion, it was very moving to see.
The reason why I knew he was developmentally delayed was because he’d gone to the super convenience shops around my area to clean up. My daughter who part-timed at the super convenience shop had mentioned him a lot, said that everybody liked him, called me, “Angel”, because he’d always brought joy to others. He was very focused in cleaning, to the point that he’d wiped the same glass panes constantly, forgetting that there were, other glass panes that needed his cleaning, but, if someone reminded him, he’d smile and rushed to the other pane.
My daughter told me, when she was working her shifts, if this little angel was there to work, he’d fight her to clean up the cups, and help the other of her coworkers with their tasks as well; the small angel would always show up bright and early in the morn, say an energetic good morning to all who entered into the shop.
My daughter had told me, that when there are customers rushing in and out of the shop, as the workers busied themselves about, and they’d not have the time to eat their lunches; or when they’d met up with a difficult customer, they’d often gotten affected from time to time, but, when they’d lifted their heads, and see this young angel, working hard, cleaning, as he hummed his tunes, his face looked so happy and grateful, it would lift her moods instantly, and help her find the passions she has for work back again.
And so, this, is on the work ethics of a mentally handicapped individual, and, perhaps, it’s because of how simple minded this person is, that he’s able to see the goodness in every situation, and, this young person managed to transfer his positive attitude to all whom he worked with and around too.
