The couple, Wang and Chen in Nantou couldn’t make enough money, and spent listlessly, owed a total of $400,000N.T. in credit card debts, they’d beaten their ill father to death, abandoned his body in a cave; a few months later, they’d drowned the demented mother in a creek, for the sake of $500,000N.T. in insurance money, the Nantou District Attorney’s Office prosecuted the couple yesterday based off of murdering their elders, and asked for the maximum sentence.
The D.A., Cheng-Yi Chen said, that the Wangs were very calculating in murdering their parents, and they’d ended up receiving the mother’s funeral sustenance from the agricultural insurance of $150,000N.T., the $187,000N.T. from the Elderly Assistance Group, as well as the $50,000N.T. for donating her corpse, a total of a little over $390,000N.T.s, but now, they face serving the remaining years of their lives in prison, or the death penalty.
The investigative officers found, that the 39-year-old couple are not working at stable jobs for long-term, they’d relied on the retired farmers’ pensions from the parents to live off of, during last May, he’d driven his father, Wang to a distant mountainous area, beaten him to death using a blunt object, dumped his body on the riverbed of Beigang Creek, then the following morning, in the early hours, he’d falsely reported his father as gone missing.
After Wang murdered his own father, because he didn’t get the calculation time of reporting just right, so, he’d thought about murdering his own mother, Tsai-Wang. Last year in the month of August, he’d taken out a “damages” insurance in the amount of half a million dollars N.T. for his own mother, on October 5th, he’d driven his wife and child, and his mother to the creek in Puli to catch some shrimps.
Wang arranged for his wife to leave with the children first, then, he’d pushed his mother into the deepest part of the creek, then, suppressed her head under water, made sure that his mother wasn’t breathing anymore, then, carried her body to the shallow regions, and had his own wife report the “accident”.
After his mother died, Wang immediately donated his mother’s body as a cadaver for dissection, and received $50,000N.T. for it. The D.A. was there, as the coroners autopsied the body, and found that she had subdural hematoma, that there were bleeding on her shoulder muscles and on the back, suspected that she was slapped hard on her back before she’d died, that the cause of death was questionable, and they’d looked deeper into the matter.
The coroners autopsied the body a second time, and made sure, that Wang’s father was beaten with a metal on the back of the head, causing his skull to fracture and his brain to be damaged, and called the couple in for a polygraph test. Wang saw how his scheme was about to go bust, on April 5th, he’d try to buy a plane ticket to try to escape to Indonesia, but was stopped by the terminal police officers.
And so, money was the cause of the murders, because the man owed too much debts, he’d gotten it into his head, that he could scheme the insurance companies for money by killing his own parents, and, no matter how he thought his plans would work, it still didn’t, that just shows, that if you do something evil, you WILL get caught, and the motive of the murders is such simple matters: money!
