From the parents’ points of views, translated…
Right after my son graduated from the information engineering majors, he’d sent his résumés to the major plants in the Scientific Park, but without any working experiences, or certifications, a graduate from a private institute like him doesn’t have a chance, and so, he’d entered into the job training center, took six months more of the related courses, he’d also signed up for several forums as well.
After he finished his training, he’d sent in his résumés again, seeing how all of his classmates are getting the jobs they wanted, but he’d only gotten opportunities to interview and NO offers, he was on the verge of giving up on himself.
Seeing my son becoming like this, as his mother, I’d had to give him a boost of sorts, I’d thought for awhile, seeing how the plants were willing to give him opportunities for interviews, it meant that they don’t despise the degrees from the private colleges, and besides, my son had always been well-rounded, had no difficulties conversing with others, and dressed properly too. So, how come he kept getting shot back? I’d mocked all the possible scenarios, wrote them all down on paper, and discussed it with my son. My son said, that perhaps, it was because when the interviewers asked him questions on his professional knowledge that he wasn’t professional enough in answering. I’d told my son, clearly, he needed to up his professional skills a bit, as well as show his self-confidence from time to time too.
Finally, at his twentieth interview, my son was accepted. The salary is 24K, after the trial period, the salary increases to 26K, I’d asked my son how’d it go on this interview, he’d told me, that he didn’t get the hang of it right away, when the interviewer asked him about what his asking salaries are, he’d given a wage that’s way too high, and for someone like him, without any working experiences, he could only ask for a job, then, ask for a better job.
I’d consoled him, that he’s still young now, it’s more important to grab a hold of the opportunities, perhaps, at the start, the hirers are looking for the degrees, but, later on, they’ll be looking at experiences.
After my son started working, he’d planned to take related courses to up his knowledge base, I’m real glad that my son is willing to work hard, from before he was not at all that active, and after the baptism of finding work, apparently, he’d grown up by a lot.
So the son realized that experience is more important, and that he’d needed to up his own working skills, because he didn’t have the halo of being from a namely university, and so, he worked extra hard, and that, would be a great lesson, to learn earlier on in life.
