A family of bad people here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

“Not loved by the father, nor by the mother, and the grandma ignored too”, this, was the two kids’ tragic lives. While the two siblings starved for nine days, the mother was partying out, and the father wasn’t found, he was a kleptomaniac; the young siblings’ grandmother is on the watch list by the illegal substance agencies, after the incident, when the police asked her to come and visit her granddaughter at the hospital, she’d told them, “I can’t, I’m too busy!”

“Leaving children in charge of younger children is what this is!”, Peng, the adolescent girl’s friend claimed, after Peng’s parents divorced, her mother took up with another man, left her in the care of her maternal grandmother. Peng fell in love in her first year of middle school, got pregnant and had a baby in her second year, and registered for marriage with her husband, and the year following that, she’d had another daughter. Peng’s friend disclosed, that the son’s conception was an “accident”, that even as Peng became a mother, she’d not shown ANY maternal love to her young.

At the start of the month, Peng had an altercation with her husband, and her husband left, nobody knows where he is. A little over a month ago, Peng went up to Taipei to find work, planned to move there. As her husband left home, Peng handed her young to her husband’s uncle to look after, then, left the home, angrily, holding a grudge.

The neighbors said, that Peng’s mother-in-law was a drug dealer, without a set profession, changed her boyfriends often, had had children with four different men. The house that Peng and her family was staying in, was bought by her mother-in-law’s ex-boyfriend, Yang, and Peng’s mother-in-law rarely came home to stay.

Peng’s husband stole parts from cars in their neighborhood and was caught by the police, the neighbors rarely interacted with the family. Peng’s mother-in-law was sued by the community for owing $24,000N.T. in maintenance fees to the community, it was paid for by her boyfriend, Yang.

And, with this sort of family history, you can understand how the story ended the way it did, can’t you? The family was messed up, with the father in jail, the mother run off, and so, these two young children were left alone, to fend for themselves, and, couldn’t, so, they’d DIED!
