A tragic tale on the trials of life here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
A man, Liu early yesterday morning, was suspected of hacking up his own cousin, then, hitched a ride up north, after he got drunk, he put on his suit, climbed up to the roof of the hotel he was staying at, leapt to his own death; the police suspected it was because he’d stolen his uncle’s identity and used his credit card, and gotten into an altercation with his younger cousin, hacked and injured him, and became depressed over what he’d done, and had committed suicide. After emergency resuscitation, his vital signs are now, stabilized.
The police claimed, the twenty-six year-old Liu because he’d swiped his uncle’s credit card without his uncle’s consent, and owed ten to twenty thousand dollars in credit card debts, had communicated with his uncle several times, yesterday in the hours of midnight, Liu rode his motorcycle to confront him, and they got into a serious verbal altercation, Liu used a knife and hacked at his younger cousin, Fang, causing Fang’s neck to have two laceration wounds, as well as hurt his arms, and hands too.
Fang’s girlfriend and her father was right upstairs, they’d heard the raucous, came down to check, saw Fang lying in a pool of blood, immediately called up an ambulance and had him lifted to Bo-Ai Hospital; Fang’s life was in critical condition, and after emergency resuscitation, his vital signs are finally stabilized, and he’s now, in the I.C.U., and is conscious.
After Liu had hacked Fang, he’d wiped the blood onto the concrete outside, started cussing for a short while, then left, later on, he’d called up his girlfriend, and told her he wanted to commit suicide, then, rode his motorcycle to the bus transfer station in Luodong, took the bus to hide in a certain hotel in Taipei, at four in the morning, he’d committed suicide, leapt off of the rooftop.
After Liu injured his twenty-four-year-old cousin, Fang, the police went to Liu’s residence to find him, Liu’s girlfriend told the police that he didn’t return, but disclosed how he may be suicidal; the police immediately used the GPS on his cell phone to track him, found that he was in a hotel in the Songshan District in Taipei, and asked the local police to keep an eye out for him around the area of the hotel, but, after ten minutes’ of search, they’d received the notice of Liu, leaping off the building.
The police stated, that based off of the surveillance videos, Liu left his tenth floor room, and went up to the twelfth floor, placed his cell on the floor of the roof, with a bottle of water, and an empty bottle of wine, and there were his shoe prints on the separating wall, and so, the police ruled his death as a suicide.
Because this man knew, that he couldn’t get away with what he’d done, that the cops will catch up to him, and, rather than living with the guilt of what he’d done, he’d chosen to take his own life, and, it’s just for a few measly dollars too!
