The head of the Department of Education Wu declared, that the Department of Education views the basic level of knowledge IS every child’s basic human right, and that through early intervention, innovative instructional techniques, development of multiple intelligences, and increasing the quality of the teaching staff, these four areas of focus, to put forth an elite training of professionals, including having English majors from universities go give free tutoring sessions to children in distant regions, and encouraging the foreign students to go to the distant areas, to accompany the kids in their studies.
Wu said, although many years ago, the Department of Education did put forth the elementary and middle school level of understanding training, but the results weren’t that good, and that the department had reviewed their ways, and hoped to change the methods, so the help is given and received, to make sure that the students have all the basic skills they needed.
Wu pointed out, that children in the distant regions as well as the students who are lagging behind should be in the early intervention programs, and it would be too late, when the students received their 5C scores at the end-of-level examinations in their last year of middle school.
And so, this, would be a workable plan, if they can recruit enough college students to help tutor these kids who don’t have the homing advantage, but, with the way things are going, where are you going to find those college level students who are willing and able to put I the time, the energy, to help out? It’s still too idealistic if you ask me!
