This ought to raise an ALARM!!!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

The three members of the online community who didn’t know one another met up, two nights ago, at a rental suite, took their shares of sleeping pills, then, burned charcoal in the room to commit suicide, they were found by the police in time; the police investigated and found, that they got connected via the largest online network for mental health and professional psychiatry, and, they’d met up, because of dissatisfactory areas in their separate lives, to commit suicide; the police already sent the three people to the D.A.’s office, based off of artificial suicide charges.

The police pointed out, that the trend of online friends meeting up to commit suicide was originally, trending internationally, but, because of the online world being set up so well, there were, instances like this nationally;  from 2005 to 2013, there were eight cases of people who met one another online, making a pact and committing suicide together, causing thirteen deaths total, and, at the end of two years ago, three people all in their twenties met up at a certain hotel in Taipei, had a full-course meal together, then, burned charcoal, and committed suicide, this had caught the society’s attention.

The Sanitary Welfare Department’s manager, Jeng stated, that suicide pacts online became the most important issue in recent suicides, when there are messages on suicide posted online, people would reply to them quickly, most are about talking the individual out of it, but, there were minorities who’d encouraged, or are willing to go with the person, to end their own lives together; and, there is a network that’s set up to prevent this trend right now, and, if someone was found, to spread messages of committing suicide intentionally, the person will get arrested.

The police investigated and found, that a business man, Lin (age 35), an unemployed woman, Liao from Taichung, along with an unemployed woman in Keelung, Lin, they didn’t know each other, and, the three of them left messages on how they wanted to suicide on a message board on a well-known website, and, got connected with each other.

The three of them had originally planned to meet up on the 21st of this month, at a rental place that Liao took out on Kunming Street, and, the two other people went home, packed their things, on the evening of the 22nd, moved in to the suite.  The three of them started discussing how they can commit suicide together, and, on the evening of the 23rd, at around nine, they’d gotten drunk, and took sleeping pills, burned charcoal to attempt suicide, and they were saved.

So, this, is how a small thought, can connect unknown individuals, and they may NOT even share the same problems in life, but, with that common thought of “I want to kill myself”, that had connected them, and gladly, the police got there in time, this time, but, what about the next time, and the time that comes afterwards???  Will the police also get there in time?

this, is still NOT my picture, found it online…
