After I married, I’d heard my husband mentioned to me on how the colleagues gathered for lunch, they had all prepared a dish each, and brought to the office, sharing the foods with each other, like a buffet. I’d thought, that this sort of functions only occur with female coworkers, can’t believe, that the men of the houses are also taking part. As I was getting curious about what he’d prepared previously, he’d announced the preparations for the next sessions.
Turns out, he was, dragged, reason being how during the lunch hours, a few female coworkers saw the packed lunch of a man, by his loving wife, started hollering for the man to be a part of the gatherings, the man couldn’t say no, and felt that it would be too weird to turn it down, and so, he’d hollered to my husband to join in too, in the end, everybody at the office became a part of it. But, those bachelors, if they didn’t have cooking lessons, I imagine, that they’d have troubles, making sunny side ups, and so, all the male coworkers who took part in this luncheon, their foods were all prepared by their wives.
Unknowingly, this once-a-week luncheon became a competition of cooking, on the single ladies’ cooking skills, versus the wives’. I’d heard my husband told me, that the wives of a couple of his male coworkers didn’t want to get talked down by the female workers at the offices, feared that their husbands’ stomachs might get pulled by women outside, they’d poured their hearts AND souls into making the meals; not only so, the male coworkers would also compare to see whose spouses cooked the best.
As I’d heard these gossips, I’d known, that my husband feared that he would pale by comparison to his coworkers, that he’d given me a heads up. I’d started hollering on the inside, turns out, there IS dirty business at the office, and, the wives’ cooking skills are a category too! It seems, that other than watching those Korean soaps, I probably need to watch MORE cooking programs too!
And so, this, is still, ALL, to SATISFY your E-G-O-S! Because men are competitive, they don’t want to PALE by comparison to someone else, and so, they gave this BURDENSOME task to THEIR wives, uh, hello, hello, hello? It’s happening in YOUR offices, why don’t YOU all cook? That, would be my question!
