Interactions between parent and child, translated…
Awhile ago, I’d gone on a business trip abroad, I’d almost had Skype conversations with my son daily, that day, I’d accepted an exclusive interview by him from overseas, the school teacher selected a couple of topics relating to “Mom & Me”, wanted the kids to interview their mothers.
“Mom, how did you feel when you were carrying me?”, I’d immediately smiled and told him, “It’s joy!”
He’d continued, “While you were pregnant, what’s the most unbearable hardship for you?”, I’d told him, “It’s exercising, you know I have the habit of going out for runs, and I couldn’t do it when I was pregnant with you, it’s the most inconvenient thing for me.”
“Then, what are your hopes and dreams for me?”, I’d thought for a short bit, answered, “I just wanted you to be healthy!”
This webcam interview with my son, other than it being a once-in-a-lifetime experience, to me, it’s a very meaningful present for Mother’s Day.
Through the computer screens, I saw the professionalism my son carried in interviewing me, I’d picked up the memories from several years ago, watched how carefully he’d taken the notes down, there seemed to be no distance that existed between him and me, the only regret was not being able to touch, and hug my baby.
So, this, is a parent-child interaction, and, through this experience, the mother may feel nostalgic about how quickly her son is growing up…
