Another case of African American getting GUNNED down by the police, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The American court in Cleveland on the 23rd found the white officer, Brelo, NOT guilty for shooting two African Americans, as the verdict came out, the crowd gathered outside the courthouse to protest, over a dozen of the public were arrested.
On November 29, 2012, an unarmed African American couple, the 43-year-old Russo, and 30-year-old Williams, drove past the Police Headquarters in Cleveland, and, because their old Chevy’s exhaust pipes gave off a loud noise as they drove past the police headquarters, the officers mistook it as someone shooting, the white patrol officer, Brelo, came outside with twelve others, and started shooting at the car, called out to Brelo, to stop drive, but, Brelo drove even faster, to get away. The police went on a high speed chase for thirty-five kilometers, and the speed was up to 160 kilometers an hour. The police ended up, shooting a total of 137 rounds at the car, in the end, Brelo came out, got on top of the car, and, the police continued shooting for another fifteen more rounds; and, Russo and Williams died, of having over twenty bullet wounds in them. The two of the deceased had multiple priors in armed robbery and drug possession charges, but, the reason why they ran, was unclear still.
The 31-year-ld Brelo fired a total of forty-nine shots. The D.A. believed, that after Brelo found that the couple posed no threat, still got on top of his patrol car, and continued firing, they’d charged him with two counts of “Unintentional Murders”. Last year in May, as Brelo was indicted, he was suspended, if the charges stand, he may face up to twenty-two years in prison.
The judge, O’Donnell, on the 23rd, found Brelo not guilty, because of the lack of evidence, reason being how there’s NO proof of how the bullets can’t be connected to the gunshot wounds of both the victims. As Brelo heard his not guilty verdict, he’d started crying.
Judge O’Donnell said, “there are many place where the public felt rage for the police, fears, and even, distrust too”, but, he would NOT find the plaintiff guilty, in the lack of evidence, when the public is ranting in anger. The cousin of the deceased Williams, Rene said, “There’s NO justice here”.
The NBA player, James did not comment, in particular to the case, he’d just said, “Violence is NOT the answer, the most important thing, is to find a way to resolve the issues.”
So, DID or did NOT the police, in this case, use BRUTE force? Nobody will EVER know, save for the officer who shot at the couple who tried to evade the arrest, and the couple themselves, but, the couple are dead, aren’t they? And, because of the acquittal of the police, that, is why the public is getting angered, because once again, black people got shot by a WHITE cop, and, the white cop still got away…
