Teenage suicide, once more, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
A second year high school girl, Shou from a certain high school in Kaohsiung, yesterday, leapt from her fourteenth story roof from where she lived, and killed herself, as the fire department and the police received the calls, they’d rushed to the scenes, but it was too late to save her. The family stated, that the high school girl had NO history of mental illness, they suspected that her suicide was caused by the pressures to perform well academically.
The school stated, that just last Friday, the female student finished the three day college tour in the south, and, on the way, she’d laughed and joked with her classmates, sang along with the songs that played on the bus, that they couldn’t detect anything wrong with her.
Shou’s father stated, that yesterday, he’d just had lunch with his daughter, he couldn’t detect anything wrong with her; and yet, by a little past one in the afternoon, his daughter had gone alone, to the top of the fourteenth floor building, from their seventh floor home, and took the leap, he was at home, and, when he’d received the news of his own daughter’s death, he was in disbelief.
The police found, that Shou was from a single-parent household, is the eldest daughter of the family, lived with her father, and younger brother in the building, Shou’s father retired from the building construction occupations. The nearby residents said, that before the death of the teen, they saw how Shou was sitting by the fences of the topmost level of the building, they’d immediately called up the security guard, but, as the guard was about to go up to check, she’d fallen off.
The police said, there was NO note onsite, there was a set of keys and magnetic key card to the front doors, the family suspected that she was under too much academic pressure, didn’t have anything else to say on the cause of death. The police ruled it as a suicide, and, will see if it was, indeed, a suicide, after the autopsy.
The school that Shou went to pointed out, that the girl was usually quiet, kept to herself, and, didn’t show ANY signs that she was under stress, and, there wasn’t any warnings beforehand, and there was NO records of her, being in the counselors’ office at school either. Shou was the library manager for her class this semester, and also volunteers at her school library, was really into the various activities that the library hosted, and entered into the English skit performances competitions, and she was in the twenties placement in her class.
And so, the cause of this young teenager’s suicide is still not clear, and, only she and she alone can tell us, WHY exactly she’d taken the leap to her death, but, we all know how the DEAD can’t talk anymore, and so, we will NEVER know, WHAT, caused her to take the leap to her death.
