The age of ILLITERACY, had finally COME!!!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

“We may be the last generation who showed respect to the words in written form”, the founder of the Yunmen Dance Group, Huai-Ming Lin started up a series of forum for the sake of the Cultural and Arts Education Center in Tamshui, invited various famous people to talk about the importance of language in the written form, on the first forum, he’d invited Xun Chiang and Mu-Rong Shi, talked about the works of Ya-Shen, there wasn’t an empty seat in the house, the forum had a wonderful beginning.

As Xun Chiang was interviewed, he’d said, that theatre performances is a bit more complex than literature, but, literatures are the most primal force of artistic creations, Huai-Ming Lin allowed the creators of literature to have a “quiet corner” by the stages of the Yunmen Dance Group, hoped that he could see the power from reading ini the theatres.

Mu-Rong Shi stated, in the past, her works were placed on the textbooks, in the written form, but now, most of her work had been made into multimedia animations, because the school believed, that the animations can help the kids think more creatively, “But what else, other than the words themselves, can make your imaginations run wild?”

Mu-Rong Shi used the words of Mu Yang, “the Chinese language is an art in itself”, she believed that the pictures will only diminish the capacity for imagination, that written texts ARE the best kind of material to teach.

And this still just shows, how this next generation, growing up in the information age will STOP reading, and yet, a LOT of the cultures are “transmitted” through the languages, and, if we neglect the importance of that, then, we will be raising the NEXT generations of ILLITERATES, do YOU want to be responsible, in aiding the next generations to come, to become ILLITERATES???  I wouldn’t think so!
