A high school aged girl from Tainan had sex with her boyfriend, and gave birth to a child, the parents of the girl used their custody rights to SUE the guy and asked him to pay one million dollars N.T.; the judge believed, that the criminal laws mandated that both the male AND the female must be sixteen, to give consent to having sex with one another, and the civil laws stated that if the male is eighteen, and the female sixteen, then, they can legally be married; the female was willing to engage in sexual intercourse with the male, that the man did NOT violate the female’s parents’ custody rights, the judge tossed back the case.
This second-year high school student met the man who worked in the middle strip of Taiwan last summer, they started dating through LINE, later on, they’d had sexual intercourse. The man would use his break when he’d gone back to Tainan, and drive the girl to his place, to have sex with him in his residence, and managed to get her back to her parents’ place before the parents wake up, so she could go to school ontime.
Later on, the girl got pregnant, and she started to show, didn’t have her period for many months, her parents took her to the gynecologist, and she was said to been pregnant for almost five months, the doctor suggested that an abortion wouldn’t be probable, and, the family, in the heart wrenching decisions, decided, to allow her to keep her child, during last month, she gave birth.
Because their daughter was willing to have sex with the boyfriend, and wasn’t enticed to run away from home, the girl’s parents couldn’t sue him for obstruction of family; but, they’d used the reasons for how their daughter was underage, and that the man had intruded on the protection rights they have over their daughter, and caused them mental stresses and pains, asked him to pay one million dollars to cover their emotional distresses.
The man said, that he is truly in love with the adolescent girl, that he didn’t obstruct her parents’ parental rights, hoped to marry her, and will help her complete her studies. But the parents in court said that their child was only a simple high school girl, and that she got pregnant out of wedlock, that she will be stereotyped by the world later on in life, that she was tortured mentally; and said that the family had had multiple altercations regarding these issues, that the parent-child relation is damaged, believed, that it’s more than a matter of the guy marrying their daughter.
And so, this, is the results from the taste of THAT forbidden fruit, and, because the girl is already old enough to consent to sex, and so, the parents couldn’t sue, and, this is still, based off of the interpretations of the law here.
