From the workforce, translated…
The postings for the yearly position and raises came, if you’re not on the list, then, you can only, work harder for the next year, so you can get that raise.
Because, “Limited Space, the Budgets Already Set”, for most, getting a pay raise is like winning the lotto, we’d all known beforehand, if we’re to get it, there’s no special kind of expectation for it. If we got a raise, then, it’s a gift from the heavens, if not, it’s expected too.
It’s just, that C had been kept out of the list again, it’d made us, a group of senior workers feel awful, we felt, that there are so many who are constantly pulling on C’s legs around her, preventing her from getting that raise and promotion. But, C smiled and told us, “All I see, are those who are helpful to me all around.”
Working as the troubleshooter, the go-to girl, to help tackle the sudden onset of problems, but, after the troubles were resolved, C never got any credits, we, who were watching by, can’t take it anymore, but C, C seemed to accept everything that happens.
As a close friend, I’d once heard C mentioned, that she knew herself really well, even IF she has the leadership skills, she’d felt more comfortable as a helper. So, she doesn’t care too much about the fames, just worked hard, to increase her professional knowledge.
But because more and more people felt uneven over what was happening to C, I’d told of the stories, I’d heard at a recent seminar, to divert the gossips.
The lecturer said, the young donkey asked his father, why they’re working so hard every single day, and can only eat the hays; the cow from next door doesn’t do anything, stays in the barns all day long, but could have fresh cut grass. Donkey’s father told him, as he’d chewed on the dried hay, “We work off of our legs, and cows work off of their milk.”
The lecturer wanted people to understand the importance of “attitude”, everybody has a separate function in the company, doing what one knows best, you shouldn’t envy anybody else, nor would you need to complain about your situation.
After C heard, she’d clapped loudly, “Like I’d told you all, I am, surrounded by people who help me out!”, whether or not there are backstabbers around you, just change your thought, and, learn from everybody around you, and, everybody you meet up is a helper to you.
And so, this is still the importance of one’s attitude, and, by thinking positively on the difficulties you encountered, you’re able to see things on the bright side, and thus, not likely to get depressed, when things don’t work out the way you’d wanted them to, and, by keeping this positive attitude, this woman will help others realize their potentials, and keep herself feeling satisfied at work.
