Problems facing the aging world here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The Menno Hospital hosted the “Love Forever—Menno Elderly Photography Exhibition” yesterday, the person in charge of the branch hospital, Lai pointed out, based off of the laws set up for the long-term care, the government set up for the funds is about ten billion dollars for five years, and, on average, it’s just 240,000,000 N.T.s per year, and that there would be a shortage of funds.
The legislative branch passed the long-term care act last week, and, everybody in the nation hoped, that the elderly can get proper and more complete care. Based off of the statistics done by the Sanitations Department, there are 430,000 elderly who had lost abilities that are looked after by the families, but, even more of the elderly who are incapable of caring for themselves are placed in nursing homes.
Lai stated, that take for example the Menno Feng-Shou Nursing Home that was set up last year, the two hundred beds nursing home cost forty to fifty million dollars to run, and, the fees for the nurses for each of the patients runs a little over thirty thousand dollars, they’d suggested that the government should view long-term care as a major issue of the day, and make up rules about it.
And so, from this you can see, how elderly care is absolutely needed in the world, as people are living longer, and longer compared to before, there are bound to be an influx of problems that surfaces, and, the lack of funding would be a HUGE problem here, as well as not having enough manpower to work, and, we’re still putting these items on the backburner, hoping AND praying, that they will get resolved by themselves somehow, but, unless there is a way, of making MORE money, and getting more people trained in elderly care, there’s NO way this will get resolved.
