Experiences in life, translated…
As I thought back to it, I really couldn’t recall, just how it’d happened, because that, was under the most normal of circumstance,, with absolutely NO warnings beforehand. Anyway, I was like I usually would, reviewing over the letters from my readers from the editing tables, as I was labeling the articles as returns or keeps, all of a sudden, my word files couldn’t be opened back up, and, there was a strange note, with English on it, as I’d opened up the mail, it’d said, “HAHAHA, are you surprised? All of your files are now, kidnapped, and encrypted by us! If you want to see them all back to you like you’d left them, the only way is by paying us ransoms, or……hehehe………”, maybe, it wasn’t the wordings used in the note, but, that, was how I’d felt it read.
Half-panicked, I’d called the computer department of my office, it felt like notifying the police, not long thereafter, the panic spread through the entire office, and, we’d shut there server down completely, the police (the computer department) checked the status of this problem, because if just one computer had a viral infection, then, ALL the computer run the possibilities of getting “infected” too, and, the results would be UNIMAGINABLE. The coworkers from the computer department told me, that this, was a new kind of virus that had been known, since only yesterday, that they had still yet, to device a cure yet, and, this afternoon, it’d become, activated, it’d followed by the e-mails, and, because I had to sort through hundreds of mail from readers who submitted their writings, there was no way I can protect myself. “Any way, your computer got kidnapped.” He’d spread his arms, meaning that there was, NOTHING he could do for me.
And, just like so, my computer was taken in, as “evidence”, by the research team, and, because I couldn’t work, I was forced, to clock out early, I’d started panicking, not knowing what I’m supposed to do for the rest of the day. God DAMN kidnappers! All of my work file are in the computer, if they can’t be salvaged, then, not only would the newspaper NOT be able to come out, all the records of the hard work I’d accumulated would be for naught as well.
And at the end of this, almost ALL of my files had been, destroyed, just like that, that was exactly like being robbed, having your fields, visited by a swarm of locusts, burned by the raging fires, washed away by the great floods, and, a part of my life, was gone, and, it shall never be returned again. The newspapers assigned me to a new computer, and, I’d bid, farewell to the past now.
I took my new laptop, to continue on the rest of my life, and rest of my working career, and, I’d felt just like that new computer, with so much empty spaces, and, the things I’d accumulated, must be reestablished once more, and, I’d thought, really hard, I was lost, and, I’d often become fazed by, a murdered file, by someone who’d kidnapped my computer.
But, slowly, I’d adjusted, can you imagine that? I thought from before, that as the files are lost, then, my work would be halted, but, that never happened. Although the rebuilding process had been difficult, still, everything eventually fall to its rightful places.
So, anything can and WILL disappear, but, there’s NOTHING that’s lost, that once it’s lost, you can’t manage to get through it. Life is constantly changing, accidents will HIT you, when you’d least expected them to, but, only when the events happened, will you realize, that you DO have the flexibilities, and the ability, to help yourselves back up. Looking back now, you’d come to your senses about how the new rules had covered the older tracks you’d walked on, and, we can still, find ways, to keep going.
I’d loved finding meanings to everything that happens in life, I’d landed, on this conclusion, after my computer was hacked and the files, lost.
And perhaps, I did, complicate things a bit too, and, the purpose of this incident, served merely, as a reminder to myself, to NOT forget to BACK up the files, simple as that.
And so, at the beginning of it all, you’d BEATEN yourselves up for NOT backing up your files, and blamed those HACKERS, for frying UP your computers or laptops, and yet, life must go on, and, eventually, you’d learned, that you NEEDED to BACK your files up, because, the internet IS truly, unreliable, and, anything can and WILL happen, always expect the unexpected, so, when the unexpected happens, you won’t get shell-shocked, and, you can make your recoveries faster.
