Injuries!!! Translated…
At the end of last year, I’d had an accidental slip, broken my left femur, after I was released from the hospital, I’d had to rely on a four-legged walker to help me walk again, and thus, started my few months of six-legged man. Every day, in the workings of my biological clock, I’d waken at six in the morn, and, the sound of my family member still snoring, became accompaniment to my growling stomach, gladly, there was this snack treasure chest on top of the tea trays, that I can manage to satisfy my hunger temporarily.
I was busy at work normally, I didn’t have the time to write or read the papers, and now, with the four-legged walker, it was, more than fitting, for me to lift up my leg, onto the horizontal bar of the walker, and I’d put a book, or my laptop onto my leg. My daughter worried that I might get depressed for sitting for way too long, she’d bought me a basket, so as I’d gone out with all six of my “legs”, I could also move things around in the house; for instance, I could place the cooked eggs into the bowls, and placed the bowls into my basket, transport them onto the breakfast tables. All of these things I’d taken for granted, now, I must take the steps apart, but compared to how when I was hospitalized and needed assistance on everything I did, I’m more than blessed.
Gladly, my husband took care of the lunches, the suppers, as well as all other household chores, without any complaints, allowing me, to enjoy this unexpected vacation time from the heavens. My friends and relatives would come often, and gave me their tips on how to get my bones to be stronger, as well as sharing their secret recipes with me, and, in the joyous conversations, I was nicknamed “Empress Dowager”.
The naps which I never had the time for from before, now, I get to sleep easy on, after I’d had my fully rested naps, I’d gotten up, and, think up of my next draft; the many books I’d put on hold from reading, also finally got their deserved attention from me. Xun Chiang once said, “Getting sick, is a blessing in disguise.” I especially cherish these days of me, as a six-legged woman.
So, getting your legs broken became a blessing in disguise, you now have MORE time to live slower, to do the things you wanted to, but never could find the time for, and, hopefully, after you return back on two legs, you can still live as you’d done, when you’d needed ALL six of your legs.
