Jealousy, is still the SOLE cause of THIS murder, and, the person who’d killed his girlfriend got life in prison, and needed to pay the family of the woman he’d murdered $2.7 million, but, no amount being paid, will give the family back what they’d lost, would it? A cab driver, Hsu suspected that his girlfriend, Hou had found another man, in the motels, he’d stabbed her to death, and was out to get gasoline, to destroy her body by setting a fire to her corpse, the Hsinbei District Courts found him guilty of murder, gave him a life sentence, and mandated that he must pay Hou’s parents $2.7 million N.T.
The courts investigated, that the 39-year-old Hsu met Hou who was two years older than he is, and started dating, but because Hou would play mahjong all night long, he’d suspected that she was seeing someone else on the side, and they’d fought a lot because of it.
Last year on April 29, at around one in the morn, Hsu took Hou to stay at a motel in Luzhou District, Hou told him, that she was going to play Mahjong with her friends, although Hsu was displeased, he’d still dropped her off; at around five in the morn, Hou went back to the motel, where Hsu grilled her about dating another man, and cussed her out for spending too much money, the two got into a serious verbal altercation.
Later on, Hou went to the bathrooms to shower, as Hsu ruminated, he’d gotten angrier, and angrier still, went to his car, took out the fruit knife he had, entered into the bathroom, stabbed Hou sixteen times, with full force, until she died. Afterwards, Hsu went out, bougt a quilt, and some gasoline, attempted to transfer her body elsewhere, and burn her corpse, to get rid of any evidences that he’d murdered her.
But, the motel staff found, that the checkout time had passed, and, nobody had gone to the counters to check out, they’d entered into the room, and found Hou’s body, in the bathroom, the staff immediately notified the police, and, the police arrested Hsu who’d just returned, but, he’d caressed his girlfriend’s body, said he wanted to commit suicide, and ask the patrol officers, to “save my girlfriend”. Later on, as the police used empathy, he’d finally admitted, to murdering his girlfriend.
In the trials, Hsu showed remorse, said that he was regretful, for stabbing his girlfriend, Hou in the heat of the moment, but he didn’t intend to kill her, as he apologized to the family members, they wouldn’t accept it. The judge took into considerations, that after Hsu murdered his girlfriend, he’d shown remorse, and was willing to settle with the family, gave him life in prison. Hou’s parents asked for reprimands, Hsu was willing to pay for it, but, he didn’t have the money, and asked help from his own family, hoped, to make up for taking their daughter, and so, the judge mandated, that Hus must pay $2.7 million N.T.
So, this, is still, a CRIME of passion, and, because this man didn’t mean to murder his girlfriend in such a brutal manner, it was all in the heat of the moment, that, was why he got life in prison, instead of DEATH. But, think about it, if someone wants to break up with someone else, and, the person gets murdered, wouldn’t that mean, that the other person has a LOW E.Q., and, shouldn’t the murderer, whether or NOT s/he had meant to murder be punished, MORE severely, even IF the families agreed to settle with the person???
